So I watched some the of 105 kg+ weightlifting finals last night and... holy freeking donkey nuts those guys are huge. The german guy who won weighs 320 pounds, and lifted almot 570 pounds. 570 pounds. Holy ridiculous batman!
I sincerely suggest you using a spoiler tag before someone jump on your back and say you're an ass Edit: I watched it too, the german guy was just incredible
Well thankfully I can appeal to the "nobody really cares about huge, sweaty male weightlifting dudes" lemma to the "please don't post live info on the olympics before it's shown in primetime" theorem. It should be noted (and has been previously asserted) that the aforementioned theorem includes the following postulate: "especially if it involves gymnastics chicks".
Ooh you can roll your eyes. WOW! I'm just saying people have kindly asked for spoilers and you could be nice and spoiler tag the results for those that don't want to see them until they can watch but do whatever you want sir.
So what's the point? Some countries like the medal count some don't. Some can compete, some cannot. Like I said, focus on the individual events or groupings forget about medal count, it's pointless and it is actually pointless to most of the other countries in the world.
Catchers that don't want to get hit shouldn't be standing in the basepaths. If the Chinese players don't know the rules they shouldn't be playing.
maybe they shouldn't because there are only a few hundred people in the entire country play baseball. also, with the starter already knocked out. the 2nd tackle on the backup was totally unnecessary. it was out of line. besides, it's the American manager telling the Chinese pitcher to hit the Americans. blame him. that's why, get rid of the sport.
Actually they should weigh the medals by sport, its level of athleticism, and whether it's a team event. A gold in athletic team events like basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming relays, and running relays is 20 points. A gold in individual 100m, 200m, 400m swimming and running events is 7.5 points. A gold in badminton, shooting, and table tennis is 3.5 points. Something like that is the most fair representation of quality of performance. To equate the Olympic basketball gold medal with a badminton gold medal is seriously lame.
If they don't know how to play isn't it their resposibility to learn if they're going to show up? That player that the Chinese hit in the head is the best minor league player in all of US baseball. They could have ruined his career by hitting him in the head like that. I guarantee you no US coach would tell any pitcher to hit someone in the head in the Olympics, that's a huge no no in baseball. You don't do that no matter what.
quality... how do you measure quality of performance? oh yeah...there would be a judge......i thought you guys don't like judge determine who wins on a match...quite a hypocrisy im sorry...but this is a very lame post, putting a subjective weight on each sport,...please contribute a more constructive post than this.
it's amazing people can be this inconsiderate and moronic. i already had it ruined for me anyway, but this would have also ruined it. we have spoiler tags, take 2 seconds to use them and not ruin things for people. maybe we have jobs or don't live in china and can't watch it live. maybe people would like to find out the result when they can actually watch it. it's not that hard to figure out, we've had the olympics and tape delays for a good generation plus now, you'd think you might've picked up on it by now.
You didnt want to be spoiled yet you clicked into a Olympics discussion thread and blamed other for "ruining it". Talking about being moronic...
Ummm, have you seen the countless movie threads that get started in this forum? People click on them to read reviews even before seeing the movie and those that have seen the movie will spoiler tag anything they post that might reveal too much. Same thing can be said here as I have already stated not everybody has the luxury of being able to watch live. Are you just too lazy to use the tags? Is it too hard?
I wish they stop grouping the weightlifters by their body weight. We just want to see who is the strongest human being. It is not fair for someone who can lift 540 pounds to win a bronze medal while the other guy wins a gold by lifting only 400 pounds. By that token, we should also group basketball players by their hight, sprinters by their speed (every slow man deserves to win a gold medal in 100m because they are born slow )
Then we should have have one style for swimming and one distance, why have freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke? Samething for track events. Why have 100, 200 400, 800, 1500 100 hurdle 400 hurdle?
