i think he has an injury that will prevent him from getting the gold. maybe he figured just pull out.
I'm new to this olympic thing as you guys can tell. So what is more important the country with the most gold medals or total medals?
I've played it in my grandmother's backyard. I just have never watched that level of pay though. I need to.
it's way more tiring than ping pong. when i was in high school, i was schooling this American guy, then another guy joined and i schooled them both. they thought i was professional. now i get schooled by Chinese girls. it requires are lot of forearm and wrists strength. a lot smashes, good vertical gets you good angle for smashes too. a fun sport. you can usually find some club in your city with a bunch of Chinese. try it out.
any European/Southeastern Asian? they are big on badminton too. it's a good non boring work out exercise.
actually, there are a lot people play it here in states. i see people all over the world play together. sometimes competing. pretty fun to watch.
Yeah but what if China wins the most Gold but the United States wins the most total medals? Imo China had the best olympics in that scenerio.
i think US is still the best. i consider swimming and T&F more important than shooting. China strategically targeted areas where other countries are not good at. such as, weight lifting, shooting, etc. they need to put more money in swimming and T&F. but China seriously lack space for sports. it's going to be hard to catch up. that's why centralized system is better for now because they actually have the facility to work on their sports. common people don't get that chance very much.
yuantian did you know you have over 263 posts in this thread alone? That makes up about 15% of all your posts since you joined the forum in 2005
holy ****. i thought i posted a lot. didn't know it was that much. i was looking at my average per day too. just today, it went from 1.5X to 1.7X per day.
The "official" method for ranking countries is by gold first, then silver(if gold count is the same) and finally by bronze. Personally, I wish they'd just install a point system for each medal. Personally, I'd weight them 5:2:1 in terms of impact. Gold has to be a lot more important than silver or bronze because it shows you're literally the best in the world.
I've always seen it listed just as the medal count. Anyway, looks at China's medals. 9 weightlifting, 8 shooting, 8 badminton, 6 diving, 4 judo. Give me a break dude... this ain't a carnival, it's the Olympics.
