i've never understood the whole pacing thing in races like the 1500. if you're faster than everyone else, shouldn't you just do whatever time you can and dare everyone to keep up? i mean it seems to favor weaker runners who can keep up and just try to outsprint everyone at the end. if you can fly the last 100m, then it seems like you're leaving something in the tank you should've used earlier. no one seems to really draft either so that doesn't seem to be a good explanation, but since everyone does it there must be a benefit.
I don't know if it was his ultra long legs that caused it, but that Kenyan runner in the 1500 didn't even look like he was tryin that hard.
same way there's 8 diving events or 4 ping pong events or a ton of swimming events. what we need is more basketball events. a 1-on-1 contest and a dunk contest would help us out.
i wouldn't mind putting in a 3 point contest. but that's kind of boring to watch. dunk contests are just like gymnastics. there are enough ****ty judges already.
how do people get customized membership title? i want to change my 'contributing member' to something else, not rookie/regular member.
I think 4 table tennis events is hardly a big deal. 8 Diving events. Probably. But swimming, weightlifting, and running REALLY takes the cake in having way too many medals. That's like having a diving competition for 1 meter, 3 meter, 5 meter, 7 meter, etc.
holy crap, he didn't even make it in? what the F was he doing, only didn't make it by .02 seconds. 2 time gold-medalist as a kenyan, nothing for america. damn, chinese guy injured.
well, it's time for Yao to step up and try to lead China to a medal. then he will solidify his position as number 1 male athlete in China.
damn, are we even going to win the total medal count. china hasn't fallen off at all and still has all those diving, badminton, ping pong and gymnastics events to go. and they've probably got some other stuff squeezed in there, too. since we suck at T&F we probably won't jump up like usual. or maybe i underrate our track chances.
ya, everyone plays it China since it doesn't require a big open space. i was playing with some chic from China when i was in graduate school, she was super good. had me running all over and schooling me. i did dive one time and get it over the net to win a big point and my friends were like wow. ended up with a big floor burn on my leg. badminton is a very tiring sports. gotta keep your head up all the time.
