According to that logic, we should just have models walking over beautifully, without any twist or turn or jump. Let's say someone starts with 0.05 difficulty level and completes perfectly, that should be gold medal on floor exercise in Olympics?

Home court advnage has been at every gymnastic events and any other events requiring human refs. Go check out the old videos of los angels competitions and the atlanta competions and see if those were completely fair. That's part of the reason why the gold count of every host nation goes up significantly.

No, because the difficulty level would only give them a score of 10.05. The other women could fall about 8 times each and still beat that.

More crappy scores for the American and bonus points for the Chinese girl flailing about on her knees out of bounds.

the commentators have been fueling controversies. they want higher rating. they are not really explaining the scoring system clearly. China's women team, only has 1 gold and 2 bronze so far, while US has 2 gold 2 silver 1 bronze. i don't know how the hell can the scoring not be fair. screw bela and his crew, and NBC bastards.

Where did the USA's second gold come from? I know 1 in the women's all around but what else?

BTW, their American so what did you expect? They are going to be biased just like other broadcasters and news agencies in other countries.

Bela is not longer working for the U.S. team, he's just doing commentary for NBC. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he quit after some controversy on how he treated his athletes and some other comments.

What have the Chinese had to b**** about though? They have the majority of gold and medals in the gymnastics events.

1 team gold with a bunch of little girls

    1 bronze in all around
    1 bronze just now

i say USA is doing hell of a job. of course, they never tell people that. they just go, oh they cheated and paid refs. :D

Every team agreed upon the scoring system, before they walked into the games. Everyone knew perfectly beforehand, that they will score 0.2 point less with a perfect 5.5, comparing to someone completes 6.5 but falls on the end with a 0.8 deduction. That's why serious and real contenders like Johnson starts at 6.5 or even 6.7, instead of hoping others to fail majorly.
