and he was leaning back as he cross the finish line. Thoughts of Tiger Woods 2000 US Open performance, 15-stroke victory at Pebble beach.
It's today, I believe. He's probably going to win the 200 easily. I'm just so disappointed with Tyson Gay. His mishap at the 200M qualifier was excusable but to completely choke the way he did in the 100M is beyond disappointing. Oh well, at least I have the 400M and 4x400M to look forward to. Those were my events in college and my boy Jeremy Wariner is going to come out hungry again!
Yup and perhaps the most amazing aspect of it all is he just started running the 100M professionally in May. MAY!
One more thing.... Why isn't Usain Bolt playing in the NFL? 6'5", incredible athlete with probably unheard of 40 times. 22-years-old, to boot. If 6'0" Justin Gatlin could get an NFL tryout as a WR I would hope Bolt could. Plus, his last name is "Bolt"! How cool is that?
probably because he can't catch, or if he gets tackled, he won't get up again. it doesn't feel good if you never got tackled before.
in the post interview, he said himself that he was 100%. maybe he was lying about that. but you just gotta take it. asafa powell didn't even medal. so it's also possible that the competition is just that tough. no shame in losing though. bolt is not human.
That's what they're saying now. Before the race he was singing a different tune. It wouldn't have mattered if he was healthy and had made the final. Nobody was beating Bolt -- or even coming close.
He's still not fully healed and he wasn't able to train for about a month -- he was just being polite during the interview. What Was Really Bugging Tyson Gay
boo! just found out that Liu Xiang has inflammation in his foot. there goes the chance for a medal on 110M hurdles.
LOL all these blaming China is getting out of hand. i was reading some forum on Yahoo! apparently some Americans got stomach problems, and everyone starts blaming China for food. i thought you guys complained before and that's why you brought your OWN FOOD. it seems like a fashion now, something happens, blame China.
I mentioned that in the thread about the US Olympic team bringing its own food that considering the problems with the US food supply there's no guarentee that American food is any safer than CHinese.
It is pretty funny that the western media are now trying to find anything that can cast China in the negative light and making a big deal out of it. Sort of reminds me of the Chinese media in the 70s.
Irrelevant. Nothing is guaranteed but death and taxes. Based on the information they had, the USOC made what they thought was the best decision for American athletes. We will never know what would have happened otherwise. I say this as someone who was shocked and puzzled when it was announced. I've been to China about 8 times and have had no gastrointestinal problems at all (and I was very adventurous with what I ate). Nobody I've traveled with to China has had any problems either.
there's also no guarantee that US athletes were eating their own food (which was Japanese not American, IIRC) at Beijing normal U or eating other food, which many US athletes were doing or so I heard.
All you Sacramone fans, the vault is coming up in like 30 minutes and I believe this will be your last attempt to catch her in the Olympics.
