yeah, gay definitely doesn't look right.

and damn, bolt looks like he could jog to gold. in that earlier heat he wasn't even trying and after giving everyone a meter lead, he still jogged to an easy win.

so far, that run was probably the most impressive thing i've seen these olympics. he not only looked around during the race, the basically pulled up at the end, and still was under 10. crazy seeing somebody get that seperation with that kind of ease in the 100 at the highest level like this.

what's crazy in the olympics (and not just these olympics) is just how big the separation often is between the top 1 or 2 people in the world and everyone else. i mean you would think at such high levels, everyone would be crazy close, and yet you watch these swimmers and track guys just cruise through semifinals, going half speed and still crushing everyone else going full speed. and then you get the gold medal winners like phelps or that british woman in the 800m just smashing everybody else. it's amazing that a small group of people can be so far ahead of the other 6 billion people on the planet in something.

    Spitz seemed kind of narcissistic.

yeah, exactly. for some reason, and i guess it's just because i can more closely relate to running than swimming, and because it's the fastest men in the world running a 10 second race, it amazes me even more in track than swimming.

It was meant for him to win that, that's all I can say. Nobody was going to let him lose, not even god.

That is awesome angle - Phelps arms just shoot into the screen from above the water and appear on the screen touching the pad as soon as the other guy touches.

the medal race should be all about the amount of golds ....what's the deal with American websites putting the counts based on total medals?....16 golds ahead of 27 golds...ah cmon, stop the propaganda he he.....The Chinese will win it definitely ... hopefully we can steal some in Badminton ;)

Sucks for the American that was winning the race...they were going all over the place...somebody even ran into the official's boat during the race.
