did phelps really win? i swear it looks like the other guy touched first. guess you can't argue with the timer.
i didn't even notice watching phelps so much that crocker didn't even get 3rd (also by .01 seconds!). dammit.
how can they even measure that accurately. it seems like the other guys finger touched first. but the dude ran out of gas.
you push the black pad thingy and the timer stops man, it's like how you get food deliverd to your cage. Push the button and the feeder drops some pellets into your bowl.
That was incredible! I sat together watching history being made, screaming my head off for thirty seconds. It's so hard to tell about the touch because Cavic lunged into it and Phelps took an extra stroke, causing a large splash. The slow motion shots don't help at all though. It's in the bag baby, Americans in the relay tomorrow!
They showed it in slow motion. The last lunge was stuff of legend. The other guy was just floating in... Phelps dug deep to find that gold medal. He was actually in 7th place at the turn, and came all the way back. Wow.
There's a sensor in the wall. I think they've been doing it this way since the late 60's. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932.
