The Chinese gymnastics team worked hard for years for this Olympics to have 1 badly judged event to take away what they achieved so far.

But Yuantain is right, this girl from China that is messing up is not getting high scores at all.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the assumption that it doesn't matter. That execution score is for the execution of that set, regardless of difficulty. The slack is already in the difficulty. Again, if I'm' wrong excuse me.

Everytime the chinese girls are out there, I'm always worried they are going to shake a baby tooth loose.

um shawn johnson and luikin are ranked 1 and 2 in the world and easily the 2 best gymnasts in the world. i think they can do just as difficult moves. so "cutting her some slack" isn't gonna work when you're going against the 2 best gymnasts in the world.

my understanding is that, if your difficulty is 7.00, your max score is 10.00 + 7.00 = 17.00. from that score you take deductions. so if she had 17.00 - 2 it's still 15. if you have 16.00 - 1 = 15

That's how it's supposed to be, but doesn't seem to operate that way in practice.

I am sad that you have been trained to avoid objective analysis if it infringes on your country's "pride" or whatever.

If you ignore the underage factor, the americans lost the team event. I'm fine admitting that. Here it's just plain ridiculous.

No I get my news from drudgereport and comedy central like everyone else.

To me everyone of those girls look younger than 16, that been said they deserved to win the last team event simply because they did better. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the events this year.

Also why are you guys not complaining about the judges gypping the American girls and go straight to questioning the Chinese girls. The Russian girl scored a 16.7 earlier.

neither of those 2 are 12/14. those two are 15. the 2 in question are really young looking. the two right now, look pretty normal actually for 15 year old. the other two from a couple of days ago. yikes, those are young looking.

You mean just like how Americans "surprisingly" took gold from Russians in 1996?

We are Americans. We are the WORLD.

Kerri Strug did it on one leg.

and she was over 16. she was like 61 or something, even though she sounded 6
