Liukin has a near flawless vault, sticks the landing, and gets deductions taken left and right for something
yeah i don't get liukin's score either. johnson almost didn't finish the twist then stepped all over the place, liupin does it as perfectly as you can, and their execution scores were i think .150 apart. do these judges even know what they're doing? the fact that 2 judges can be so far apart watching the same thing leads me to believe they don't, which is amazing consider they should be the best in the world.
Well the commentators seem pretty bewildered....described it as "perfection". Then the score comes up and they're all Seems like you might as well go for the higher difficulty vault and fall on your ass since they're going to take points off of execution even if you nail the lower difficulty vault, giving you essentially the same score.
god, i am so sick of the old guy talking about judging. shut up already. i don't understand half of the crap you are saying. and he makes excuses for everything. some are justified, sure. but he does it none stop.
I don't think the Chinese girl got a high score either, but she did fall on her backside. I think one of the US girls has the highest score so far too. From what I have read the Olympic gymnastics judges are infamous for giving questionable scores.
yeah, it seems like you can't lose less than .4 no matter what you do on any of these routines and yet seemingly bad performances never drop more than .7 or .8 (assuming you don't just fall).
well yeah, falling on your ass probably should get you a bigger penalty than sticking your landing. and the judges not surprisingly find plenty to get shawn johnson for on the uneven bars.
Michael Phelps apparently has an autographed rookie card from a 2004 set of Leaf "Fans of the Game" where he appears as a fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Its value has jumped from 25 bucks to over $500 on ebay.
Tickets are sold out though. By the time I actually decided that I wanted to watch a few events, I got turned away at the ticket counter. So it's just like the Toyota center. People don't bother to show up.
Yea I honest can't figure out how they actually judge these things, at least on the previous competitions they just gave high scores to whoever didn't fall since everyone did. Why can't they just have something like who can swing the longest or who can do the most backflips. Or who looks the best so Alicia Sacramone could win in something. Those Russian girls don't look 16 either.
why does it feel like our 2 people who are supposed to be 2 of the favorites are not even going to get medals? something bad is going to happen.
That blond trainer with a pony tail on the Russian team is pretty attractive. That US girl in the pink outfit looked like she was about to choke someone.
