Exactly. It's just like when LeBron was taken from his family at age 3 and forced to train to play basketball.

exactly, i don't mind underage girls competing. hey, if a 12-yr old girl can out-gymnast a 16-yr old girl, props to her. but it's obvious they're not that old. i think the youngest chinese gymnast stats is like 4'6 and 68 lbs (is that normal?).

it's just disturbing what china is doing with these kids. i mean, with their communism, i'm sure nobody will find out about it, but it's just not right.

    but US choked anyways.

Incredible gymnastics for a second night but I really wish they would do away with the music for the floor exercise for women and just go out and do a straight up routine like the men without trying to do some lame American Idol like hand movements in between tumbling runs.

You're right, that doesn't happen here in the US at all.

Many individual sports prodigies start at a very young age (I'm guessing the average is 5 or 6), no matter what country you're in.

I guess I missed the part of the Tiger Woods story where he was taken from his family at age 3 to train relentlessly to play golf.

    My bad.

That tied into yuantian's point, which you decided to ignore for whatever reason.

What part? The part where the family forces the kid to do this? How did I ignore that?

She will never have trouble staying mounted on my balance beam.

You know, Alicia Sacramone is cute and all...but you guys drooling over here need to stop for a second and look at her neck, which is the size of a middle linebacker's. Don't get me wrong she's a good looking girl, but definitely there are other girls more worth fawning over.

Like that blonde chick with the great legs that went right after her. She is much better looking IMO, and her neck isn't scary sized.

That said I think I'm done watching gymnastics--this was enough for me. I wish basketball wasn't on while I'm at freaking work in the morning.

Edit: So I looked back at some pictures and with her hair down she is actually pretty hot. I still was thrown off a bit by her neck though watching on TV.

These swimming WRs are dropping like flies.

Last time that happened, East Germany was in the Olympics.

Nope don't care about her huge neck, only time neck I'm concerned about is her giving me neck.

We're not exactly searching for the next Miss USA...we just want to....nm

And she's flexible...suddenly I sound like Kramer telling Jerry the benefits of dating a gymnast...

Good lord I didn't think Phelps could be any more of a absolute freak of nature in the pool...I was wrong. The man set a world record tonight in his first race with his goggles messing him up the entire way.

    Faulty goggles don't slow Phelps
