that' why i don't like certain "sports" i like a game with a scoreboard. we know winners and losers. USA breakdancing time.
well, maybe their difficulty just wasn't good enough to compare. don't they give out bonus points if you do more difficult ones?
Are you talking about the vault? Cause the girls do a roundoff to mount it. I am not watching these games yet so excuse my question if it's silly.. it's recording for me. The difficulty of the element sets the limit. From that you get execution points to add to it. so like if the difficulty is a 6.5 and you get a 9.10 then your score is a 15.60
i don't like how the girls have music. they are out of sync most of the time. and some music are boring and don't match the routine. lame.
I imagine you get more points for doing more difficult stuff but it just seems to me that someone who does a hard routine perfectly should get at least equal points as someone who does a harder routine with mistakes. Then again, I only watch gymnastics once every four years.
it's easier to look good if you do less difficult stuff. let the judges do their job. if it's really unfair, they will make a fuss later on anyways.
Homecourt advantage? I'll agree the 16.1 seemed a little too high, but on the NBC guy said that one of the mistakes was probably a part of routine, so he messed up on the landing only. That been said the Chinese guys are extremely skilled and highly rated, that with a entire stadium cheering them on I would assume the judges would be more likely to give them higher scores. Just look the Japanese just scored higher avg then China. I mean comeon Japan scoring higher then China, in China
Yes, sir. I will refrain from stopping the judges from doing their job from thousands of miles away. I just don't really understand judged sports, I guess.
on a side note, when does China play Spain? i wonder if i should get up in a few hours to watch it. just hope i don't doze off at work.
how did hagerty suck so bad on floor? he basically just stepped out of bounds on his own. come on. i don't quite understand how our lead works. is it relative to the events we've been in, since some are higher scoring, or if japan is about to do higher scoring events are they just going to blow us away at the end?
i guess it really depends on which event you are doing. the French were leading after first two rounds. i am really impressed with this Horton guy. he is got a bright future ahead of him.
I think you get pts taken off for having your foot outa bounds. Hagerty's routine was definitely inferior to the Chinese team's before that. This other dude from team USA just nailed it tho, I would be shocked if he doesn't get 16+.
I really don't think sticking the landing matters much at all as long as you don't cross the line. Not even the guy on NBC cares much about it
