Instead of a big party the closing ceremony should be one big winner take all brawl with the last country standing getting a gold medal.
    ;)

If it is a winner take all brawl, then the last country standing should get ALL gold medals. :D

Would it be wrestling, Judo, Boxing, TKD or some other sports taking the final gold? i am sure those NBA players won't be standing. :D

No style. Just an old fashioned street brawl between all of the Olympic teams on the floor of the stadium.

I bet if Vince McMahon had bee hired to produce the closing ceremony there would be one.

It would most likely be athletes from those events that will be the victor. ;)

So athletes officials also get to adopt a Chinese kid? ;)
When my uncle adopted two kids from the PRC he had to pay $10K for each along with jump through a lot of bureacractic hoops.

the Jamaican track team would be too quick for anyone to catch, they'd watch everyone beat each other down and thus win the gold by default...as Bolt showboats.

Yes, without them the event would not be a success. A group of students from my university went to Beijing to serve as hosts for the events (they don't speak Chinese but I guess they guided the English speaking athletes around.)

it seemed a little too kobe-centric (well, way too kobe-centric actually). granted, the chinese people seem to worship the ground he walks on, but it didn't properly recognize everyone else, especially lebron and wade.
