titans draft hasn't gotten worse drafting chris johnson with 1st round and now lose limas sweed 1 pick before titans 2nd rounder.
Well, the run on receivers hurt. I bet Chris Johnson would have still been here at this pick for the Titans.
And all I'm saying is Moss wouldn't have had the year and numbers he did without Welker catching those 5-10 yard passes. There couldn't have been a more perfect compliment to Moss than Welker.
Yeah Moss only played next to one of the greatest receivers of all time and FUTURE HALL OF FAMER in Cris Carter who was still very productive for his final 4 years as a Vikin alongside Moss but I guess he doesn't count as a compliment huh? Also didn't hurt to have a Daunte Culpepper in his prime tossing. I am not trying to say Welker is as good as Moss by any means... I'm just trying to say he was a very valuable part of the team and was an instrumental part of Moss's success. Also Welker just completed his 5th year in the league and had a breakout year and he is for real.
I knew you were going to bring Carter up. Moss' greatest season before this past one was in 2003 with the Vikings. He didn't play next to Carter as he was retired. He played next to Nate Burelson and Kelly Campbell who combined for a whopping 54 receptions, 977 yards, and 6 TDs. Moss nearly double the yardage and tripled the TDs by himself. I know you're not trying to say that. I agree he was valuable but I believe you could put a number of other wide receivers in that same spot and they would be just as successful or instrumental in the success of that team. As for him being for real, we'll see if he can remain consistent.
Fair enough.... You are an Eagles fan right? We can at least agree the Eagles got a steal in Dasean Jackson and we're excited Eagles got another playmaker?
I don't really have a team per se... But I do like the Eagles a lot. Especially B.Westbrook.. and being a Pac-10 guy I saw Dasean Jackson single handedly destroy my Ducks a couple times so I'm fully aware of his capabilities. Finally a legit receiver on the Eagles!
That's cool. I don't know how legit he will be as a receiver. I mean I read he was 5'11'' 169. Maybe he can use that and his speed as an advantage, think Steve Smith. I was more excited about his capabilities in the return game. The Eagles were marred by this from the start of the year last season.
I watched the video of Anna Megan Riley interviewing Bob McNair after the pick. He talked as if Brown was one guy they REALLY liked and REALLY wanted. He also said they had talked beforehand of trading back but only 3-4 spots. He got concerned when Rick Smith made the deal to move 8 spots back but McNair said Rick told him everything will be OK. They also said Kubiak was so nervous about not getting Brown, that he was contantly pacing and had to leave the room. So, all in all, it really sounds like they got the guy they REALLY like and picked up some much needed picks. I also read his interview on the Texans website. He sounds like a great guy who will really work hard and looks forward to the challenge at stopping the good DE's in the league.
Not that much excitement on the Texans part but I really wished we could have picked up the Ravens 71st pick vs. the 89th. But there is a ton of talent left so I'm glad we were able to pick up an extra pick. CB: Justin King Charles Godfrey Reggie Smith RB: Jamaal Charles Kevin Smith Tashard Choice Chauncey Washington Steve Slaton Safety: Dejuan Morgan Tom Zbikowski WR: Mario Manningham Andre Caldwell Early Doucet
I was shocked to see this, especially after all the hype guys like Hardy and Thomas were getting this past week. He definitely has the speed, playing and learning from Holt will be good for him.
