I love Sweed. My cousin played ball with him in High School and Brenham, and I've seen him plenty of times at home and away while he was at UT. I figure people must be worried about his wrist injury. Otherwise, I have no clue why he's fallen.

I'm not complianing, I don't know this guy and I liked Mario Williams, but it seems that year after year, our picks (at least the first one) seem to be "reaches"...

Brohm > Ryan IMO, I'm curious when he will go.

And Brennan, although I have no expectations for him, just curiosity.

True but are they "good" wide receiver stats? 67 receptions for 687 yards and 1 TD doesn't stand out as a good wide receiver to me.

    2006 QB: Joey Harrington
    2007 QB: Tom Brady

Welker's receiving yards average was 10.3 in 2006 (with Miami) and 10.5 in 2007 (with NE).

I think teams are starting to realize they need to be more wary when selecting WRs and don't want to pay out large sums of cash when they don't work out. That could really be said about any position though.

Philly is back on the clock. Here is to hoping they select a WR but knowing Andy Reid it's an offensive or defensive lineman. But they have 2 of the next 3 picks.

    This is a real shocker.

The GMs must know something about Jackson and Sweed that we don't.

Consistency. If he's a good player in 2007, why isn't he one then in 2006, given his average is the same? He had Joey freaking Harrington as his QB in 2006, who only managed 12 TDs total that year (versus 15 INTs). The potential was always there for Welker. Look what happened when he went to NE.

Great pick though, a lot of people think Laws is gonna be an absolute stud.

Yeah he went to New England who has future hall-of-famers Brady and Moss starting with him, what did you expect?

Yeah, I have heard that but the Eagles are pretty set on the defensive line except maybe the ends. Maybe he will fit into that rotation that Johnson does and develops into an All-Star. I hope so.

Dude, if you seriously think Welker is a crap player who is ONLY good because he has Randy Moss next to him, then we just need to agree to disagree right here and part company.

They took him, whew! I like his speed and what he can bring to the return game. Hopefully they can pick up Sweed or Kelly later on if they keep dropping for some size. I doubt the Eagles draft 2 WRs though especially if they keep trying to get Chad Johnson. I see the two first rounders next year being major players if a deal is ever done there.

I have stated several times that I don't think he is a scrub or a crap player but I doubt he would have the same numbers he had this past season without a player of Moss' caliber on the other side of the field. He is not a number 1 receiver. That's all I am saying.

The Redskins got two highly rated wide receivers in Thomas and Kelly.
