Welker succeeded because of Moss, you put him beside some mediocre WR and his numbers will decline.

All these teams passing up on Desean Jackson wtf?! Jackson is a player. This is no Ted Ginn jr.

Of course they'll decline, and obviously a part of his success is having other weapons that draw away attention. But with that said, he was a steal for the Pats. Any team would love to have a quick wr that runs crisp routes, blocks extremely well for his size, and can return kicks and punts. i'm not a Pats fan, but I'd love to have Wes Welker on my team....

Then it's only fair to say Moss succeeded because of Welker. Without all those short 5-10 yard passes to Welker inside the deep plays don't open up for Moss.

No, a good wide receiver can make plays for themselves using their speed, body, route running or whatever.

It's all good. We'll just agree to disagree to some degree. I'll just say that they complemented each other well in that offense, and that neither would've been as productive without the other. Obviously Moss is more talented- no one is debating that. But I'm just saying that Welker is far from a scrub.

Yes he was a nice pick up for them but if you don't have a premiere wideouton that other side would it worth it? I don't know but I don't think so.

I'm not saying he is a scrub either but I am saying his success was more largely based on Moss being on the other side of him rather than the other way around.

2 picks in front of Philly getting a wideout.

Which is exactly what Welker did in Miami... made plays surrounded by scrubs. Thus making him a "good wide receiver." I dislike the Patriots a lot and I can say honestly say Welker is a damn good player.

Hardy is gone- who do you want Philly to take if they go WR? Sweed? Jackson? Kelly? Manningham?

Welker didn't exactly have stats that stood out in Miami and had a Pro Bowler, Chris Chambers on the other side of him. I'm not saying he is a scrub or bad player either.

Either Kelly or Jackson. Kelly just for his size, we have seen what a good-sized WR can do if they are able to successfully use it to their advantage. His speed and injuries are concerns. Jackson isn't the best sized but he could be used in the return game which plagued the Eagles from the start of the season.

Jackson, Sweed, Kelly and Manningham are getting seriously owned.

Good point about the Eagles. They aren't my favorite, but I do like them. They definitely need return help. Westbrook could do it, but he's too valuable to put back there. Reno Mahe didn't do jack, either. D-Jackson might be the way to go.

Yeah but Limas Sweed has some nice size too after looking at his description. Doesn't matter though, Eagles traded out of the pick. :(

... And yet Welker had more receptions and yards than Chambers in 2006. (And Moss, too, albeit in 3 more games.)
