I think I am the only person in the US who picked both of those upsets! Western because its in Kentucky (and I love their mascot.. what IS that thing) and San Diego because they beat Kentucky at Rupp... so I knew they could beat UConn! YAY for the 12-13 matchup for a trip to the sweet sixteen!!
Not quite as impressive as the Western Kentucky shot...but impressive nonetheless! Viva la Cinderella!
Clemson ****ed me up the ass. i had them winning. i had a few brackets where they were going to the elite 8.
Even though my bracket is very messed up, Friday was a lot of fun. SEC typically underrated in the tournament, with one or two teams in the final four, but they look overrated this year. And not to get negative, but is CBS annoying anybody but me? Really, we get to watch the 8-9 games? And every 1st-half 3-pointer is "a HUGE THREE!!!!!111!1" I think a lot of teams are making the mistake of milking the clock way too early. Like they get tight around 6, 7 or even 8 minutes left, and that's just crazy, IMHO.
Same here. You gotta love a bunch of McDonald's All-Americans and their annoying coach getting shown up by a bunch of guys you've never heard of and their first year coach. Booyah! P.S. Get ready for a blood bath tonight between Pitt and Michigan State.
Not that it matters, but that UCLA game ending dunk shouldn't have counted. You can even see the ref waving it off in the background and the red backboard light on with the ball still in his hand.
Man, when I saw Butler had been seeded #7 with their 30-3 record, I had assumed that they were just beating up on crap competition...boy was I wrong. They got straight hosed by having to play Tennessee in the 2nd round. They beat up on their conference foes as well as beating Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and Southern Illinois. I know that none of those teams were tournament teams this year, but I'd say VT, OSU, and FSU were in the best 10 teams that weren't in the tournament. They played a solid schedule but got matched up with a very, very, very good TN team in 2nd rd.
Put me on the NCAA refs are terrible bandwagon. Watching Butler get robbed is making me sick to my stomach.
Davidson is a big surprise to me. Bigger than the other upsets. I picked them to beat Gonzaga b/c the zags were overrated and I saw them play. But there's no way I thought Davidson could beat Georgetown. Very weird. Of course, in my area, CBS wanted to show me a 12-13 game instead...
