It has narrowed the field of competition down to about 30 teams. And most years its a field of about 15 teams at best. Classic have and have-not scenario. It kills the spirit of competition within the game, if people aren't allowed to compete on a level playing field before the ball is snapped, why bother?
So do you watch the NFL or MLB? And even if it has narrowed it down to 30 teams, is that not enough for you? Plus, a perfect example is West Virginia, they went from nothing to a Top 5 team with a BCS championship
I don't watch the MLB as much as I do the NFL, or the NBA, mainly because of competitive descripencies. I like parity. It makes for more engaging competition. Considering there are over 100 D1 teams, no, it isn't enough. Not by a long shot.
You better believe it! I'll be there with a group of DFW UTEP alums. It would be cool if we could meet up for a beer before the game...
Rock on. Oh, and here's a little something to get you pumped... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7r3lJ-TOFk
I didn't realize what a homer call that was.. "LEIK OMG INTERNCEPTIONSO!!!!" Jeez, does that announcer have Price's hand up his butt? Well.. Price is kinda freaky.. maybe he does
But the Big 6 conferences were already dominating college football before the BCS. That's why they got the automatic bids in the first place. Besides which, this year they are adding 2 more BCS spots to try to create more openings for the Utahs and Fresno States of the world.
That was actually the El Paso radio guy. One of the guys from the UTEP board combined ESPN tv coverage with the El Paso audio. The radio guy has been on the job for over 20 years now and is actually an employee of UTEP, not the station. So yeah...he's a major homer.
Throwing your 5th interception to lose the game in double OT is pretty exciting. Ya it was a homer call, but I could see other commentators acting like that.
My one reservation about ND is their defense. You know Weiss is gonna have that offense on point and Quinn will have a Heisman-type season, but defense will be the key to their season IMO.
1. Who's your favorite to win it all? 2. Who will win the Heisman? 3. Who are the Top 10 players/teams? 4. Who will go #1 in next years draft? 5. Who's the most underrated/overrated team? 6. Please feel free to add anything else 1. Ohio State 2. Brady Quinn 3. Brady Quinn, Troy Smith, Adraian Peterson, Micheal Bush, Marshawn Lynch, Calvin Johnson, Jeff Samarrdzija-(also cubs pitcher), Dwyane Jarett, and the two UH players Kevin Kolb, Vincent Marshall. 4. Brady Quinn or Adrian Peterson 5. Under- Houston Over-USC 6. GO COUGARS!!!
How are the Cougs looking this year? Kolb is being rated as a Top 10 Senior QB, but I wasn't all that impressed the couple times I saw him last season.
