I really don't think so. I think he'd get a 45 or 46 based on how the judges were scoring (instead of the 42 he pulled out of it).

So I don't think he'd have made the finals anyway.

Wish they had raised the rim by 2 feet like he asked

"The Sticker" ruled. Howard should have been in the finals against Green.

Sticker had a bible verse written on it:

    "All things through Christ."

Going back to the 3pt shootout, Damon Jones was such an idiot for starting from the right side of the court when he likes to shoot with the ball rack on his right side. He lost 10 seconds of the time for that. Very very bad decision making. I know he's from Houston but he really sucks.

It's not gonna sound good having a 6 10 player wnning a dunk contest. I like the first dunk, it was a great looking dunk but boy, the guy is 6, 10.

Kapono and Wade were absolutely amazing tonight. The Heat look poised to return to the finals. Once again, the Mavs choked. :)

There were some new dunks in this contest and some good entertainment in between. It wasn't solely all about dunking & they put on a show. Its about having fun and giving people something to watch and for the most part they did.

Highlights were the 1st Nate dunk, Green's 1st dunk, the Dee Brown dunk with Nate as a prop & the Dwight Howard freaking sticker dunk (c'mon judges).

Lowlights was again Nate attempting 50 times each dunk, Tyrus Thomas tearing down the darn net, And Gerald Green taking waaay too long setting up putting on the pump shoes & changing into the retro gear.

Decent overall contest. I score it an 8. Jordan scores it a 6.

Head should have played the shootout instead of Terry.

The Bulls can take down the Heat. With Big Ben on Shaq and the grinding defense they play, I can see that happening. But Kapono changes the equation. Who in their right mind saw him stepping up so big this season? If the Heat dump Posey for a PG, I give them the edge over the Pistons. Chris Webber going to Detroit makes me sick. Despite his physical limitations, he is a great fit. Hopefully the bloom wears off by playoff time but I doubt it since Webber has never won a championship before.

For the record, I want the Pistons and Heat to lose so the Bulls, Cavs and/or Wizards are in the ECFs. Let's get some new blood in there.

since it was brought up earlier, the heat are definitely in the finals. detroit isn't going to be able to stop wade and their offense won't be enough. and they're the only team with even a shot at beating the heat. if they had kirk hinrich and his magical ability to somehow contain dwade, they might have a chance, but they don't.

and the heat could definitely beat a western team. not only because of wade, but kapono is just shooting ridiculously. he doesn't just hit luther head/shane battier type wide open 3's. he can shoot with a real quick release and still hit it like nothing. that's going to kill some team at some point.

no they can't. they could make it tough like last year, but they don't have the firepower. just not happening.

detroit's played nicely since getting webber, but the heat have the D to hold them down, wade is more clutch than billups or anyone on detroit, and if they couldn't stop wade last year, they definitely won't this year. i would love to be wrong, but barring injury, the heat are in the finals.

OK, may as well crown the Heat in the East.

They dont need to cancel. They set the rules so its only players in the league 3 years and younger. That's the NBA's fault.

Raise the prize money, and allow anyone and there you have it.

TO me, it seemed they were adamant on letting Nate defend his crown against Green. Dwight got screwed for sure. Again though, it seemed like they just wanted to let Nate get in. Besides his first dunk, the rest were just judged on giving him the size advantage and forcing him into the finals.

Could be one reason why they rejected Dwight's request to raise the rim 12 feet.

He should've paid someone to do it at the time and took the fine.

I think the real travesty of the dunk contest is, we'll never know what the rest of Dwight Howard's dunks would've been. I can only imagine =/

At least one of them probably would've topped the sticker one.

Novak would have won the 3 point contest if he entered. He could be just as good as kapono is for the heat if novak was allowed to play.
