Battier is going to do wonders for the Rockets. I admit I underestimated his value.

unfortunately i forgot this was the game that came on at midnight (instead of 5:30 am), so where are wade, lebron, and carmelo right now? have we been doing the one line up for each quarter thing the whole game? or does coach K just figure it's wrapped up.

also, did all 3 start or did only 2.

Wade stunk... Lebron played OK... Carmelo did his thing. He did play different lineups every quarter, Jamison started the game but didn't play after the 1st quarter.

    Wade came off the bench.

Disappointing game overall because they didn't blow them out, they played horrible defense, and they didn't rebound as well as they should. They probably need to play two BIGS at a time, not one center and either Carmelo or Lebron.

The United States is going to get their asses handed to them by Argentina or S & M if they play like that in the elimination round

Did anyone else notice that we were leading 76-62, Puerto Rico scored, and all of the sudden the score went to 74-66 and was never corrected? We lost 4 points right there.

The announcer was audibly confused but never mentioned it. I guess he assumed he was mistaken and didn't want to say anything.

Also, the final score on the telecast was 111-101 but the stories this today showed 111-100.

I'm so glad they have their act together. Hasn't there been numerous discrepencies with the score in the exhibition matches?

Wade was everything you don't want to see. I don't how many points he scored or how many dunks he got the thing that bothered me with him was his lack of effort on defense and his lackadasical sloppy play when the USA got a comfortable lead. both times PR got back in the game after Wade seemed to take a few plays off. i don't like his body language out there, he needs to step it up and show a lot more effort, and not just little portions of effort when he has the ball, but throughout the game.

Right cause Argentina and S&M were so sharp last night too...

The main teams to worry about imo are Spain and Greece

I have a question. Why didnt tmac get invited? I mean I looked over his stats and stuff when he was playing for team USA and he did very well. 12.6 pgg and all that other stuff + the team did very well 10-0 or something.

T-mac doesn't want to play on the US team. He's putting his attention and focus on preparing for the NBA rather than in international competition.

If Tracy wanted to join the US team, he's definitely get invited. He was on that stacked qualifying team from a few years ago, but decided not to go to Athens. Since then, I bet he's made it known that he's not interested in making the team, so he hasn't been asked just like how KG has made it known that he's not interested in team USA.

I too was smiling and thinking about him on the court with T-mac and Yao.

The way I look at that whole thing is we gave up a lot for Battier. Why would Memphis have given him up for less? They are on a longer building plan than the Rockets. They have some time to grow. We gotta' be grown and harvesting pretty soon or we will be starving.

    Cheers,
    Brock

    oooh icic.
i think if hes on the team right now. he'd be a 20ppg. scorer. i watched the game vs. puerto rico the other day. team usa sucks at shooting and the only way they can score is to be open [like hinrich and johnson] and fast break

Yeah ... I remember looking up at the TV, seeing 74-66 and was like ... WTH? How did the lead disappear that quickly? Unfortunately I wasn't paying close enough attention to notice why. I thought the final score was corrected because the last shot wasn't a 3-pointer.
