I still like the Cards in this series. I'd be more optimistic with the Red Sox but they went up 2-0 against the Mets and found a way to lose that.

How funny would it be to see the red Sox go 3-0 only to lose the next four.

The Cardinal starting pitching has been terrible. The bottom half of the BoSox lineup is doing serious damage. I'm expecting the Sox to beat up Suppan and Marquis the next two games.

How is Joe Buck and Tim McCarver able to resist openly rooting for the Cards? If I were in their position, I would be the biggest homer... baseball's Tommy Heinson.

The Cards' starting pitching is horrible on paper. And after six months, they are finally starting to show it on the field.

Manny just put the Sox ahead 1-0 in the top of the first, game 3 in StL... a 2 out homer vs. No Suppan for you. Ortiz reached also.

I'm sick of the announcers ga-ga-ing over how the field drains so well.

    I really wouldn't mind a Sox sweep.

Foulke just made Renteria look silly there.

As a casual follower of the Cardinals, this seems very embarassing for that team.

I can't imagine how a real fan feels right now... it almost makes it feel worse that they actually had won 105 games with this rag-tag pitching staff, and when it counts the most, they're truly exposed.

All I know is that, if you're an Astros or Cubs fan, you're feeling a little better right now... because, once again... the team with the better pitching is going to end up winning.

Astros - Oswalt, Pettite, Miller, Backe, Clemens (maybe), Lidge

Cubs - Prior, Wood, Maddux, Zambrano, Clement (maybe).

Cardinals - Matty Mo (will be gone), Woody (should be gone), Marquis (ok... but more avg. than good), Carpenter (too hurt too often), Izzy (overrated).

Don't run on Manny. And Suppan just doesn't run. Rolen, Edmonds, and Sanders should give their paychecks back. Tavarez is still throwing at batter's head and deserves a beating.

Tomorrow night's game will be a battle. DLowe has been sub par on the road all year. So expect a rock fight. However, The Sox machine will continue to pound the cardinal's starting pitching.

    Next victim: Jason Marquis

I hope the Sox win it, their fans have suffered long enough, and it gives us 30+ year Astros fans some hope.

    :)

This thing is over tomorrow. Marquis is going to end it.

So there will be one less good sell in baseball. Darn it.

I became a Cubs fan in 1960. I moved to Houston in 74 & became a Cuba & Astros fan. As you can see, I've been hating the Cards since 1960. Boy, do I love the Red Sox right now!! :D

I`ve tried to get into this series, but it seems like a dud. Maybe I`m still hungover from the NLCS, but the games are not exciting IMO.

Exactly, rockss. Both teams are worn out after the amazing LCS battles. Both teams are playing like crap - the 9 or so innings I've watched represent the worst quality of play I've ever seen in a WS.

Where are all of the obligatory "random bar in Boston" camera shots?
