one of the greatest comebacks of all time, if not the greatest. down 0-3 in the series, to win 3 in a row and get to a game 7. down 0-3 in the game, and run off 4 straight goals to win it. NHL where amazing happens.
Un-freakin-believable. I'm not much of a hockey wizard so I have no idea, but has anything like this happened before? Plus, two MONSTER underdogs facing each other in the next round. Hell, I can't decide which underdog story I like better.
Can someone explain to me the draw of Hockey? Ive barely watched it due to living in the south of the US for most of my life. To the hockey fans, what is it that makes it so awesome?
you missed Exhibit A last night. that game was phenomenal...especially within the bigger context of that entire series. i so wish houston had a team to give me a legit rooting interest. i'm on the edge of my seat watching these games with little to no rooting interest...i can't imagine how exciting it would be with a houston team playing for the Stanley Cup.
Game 6 is tonight in Philly. Chicago looking to hoist the cup. I knew it was on because it was on NBC, not VS.
Chicago up 3-2 right now in the third period. Less than seven minutes. The last time Chicago won the cup was a whole lot of years ago. I'm sure NBC will mention it. Just a decade ago, the Blackhawks suck. Their minor league Chicago franchise was doing better at the gate.
The physicality of the game is very entertaining, huge hits, fights, lots of pushing and shoving gets the adrenaline going. But there's a ton of finesse jaw dropping plays as well. I'm a huge Flyers fan as I type Hartnell has tied it up!!! Flyers look great for years with young guys like Leino, Van Riemsdyk, Carter, Richards, Giroux, Carle, etc. Solid mix of veterans like Hartnell, Pronger, Briere, and Gagne. What they need is a true #1 goalie which in my 10 years of watching they've never had. They've never had a problem trading or signing talent but they never seem to lure a big time goalie.
chicago will riot too. I guess when we saw the final 2 teams, it was kinda destined that both teams would have their cities riot regardless of the outcome
Congrats to Chicago. Until the Flyers can get their netminder situation addressed they'll never win a cup.
