Meh, he's lost 3 game 7's on home ice in the last three years. Then there was the Olympics. I know his numbers were decent, but he played poorly for 6 of the 7 games against Montreal. He's choked on more than one occasion.
No argument with that stat. I'll maintain that 3 years ago was a learning experience for a young team and player, last year was a game 7 against the eventual champs (home or not)...this year sucked. Disagree that he played poorly. I didn't like how he played for maybe 1 full game and parts of 2 others. I thought he was fine the rest of the series. Montreal's gameplan was solid, as were their shotblocks and goalie edit: And no player is immune to the occasional lapse.. Crosby didn't play so well yesterday.
This sucks, I was going to Pittsburgh next week on business and wanted to catch my first playoff hockey game....not looking good. I guess the Brewers and Pirates are going to have to do.
a) Maybe all the Pens fans, and general Caps haters around the nation, can quiet down just a bit after seeing that Montreal did the same sh** to them that they did to the Caps. Guess what...Pitt took them to 7 games and lost, just like the Caps b) I wish it went from 4-0 to 5-1 so the Pens could have realy felt what the Caps felt LAST season when the Pens demolished the Caps in game 7. But this will certainly do at 5-2 in the 3rd
so i'm back from the madness that is downtown montreal and the only thing i have to say is... oh i already used the halak stop sign. damn. oh... ...wait. Once again, habs in 7 against the blackhawks. yeeha
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AtmVSRQZxCHKSZWTY15zkEF7vLYF?slug=ea-habsupset051210 8th seeded team playing the 7th seeded team for conference title, WOW. Canadiens have to win everything now, they've beaten the defending champions and the best regular season team as an 8th seed road team, anything less than Stanley Cup might nullify everything they've done so far.
I don't understand how people can NOT get into this. Compare the intensity/overall fun of this year's NHL playoff games with this year's NBA playoff games. For me, there's no comparison. My interest in basketball may have just naturally waned, but my interest in hockey continues to increase.
I've been a Philly fan since Bobby Clarke's playing days -- but a Habs/Bruins match-up would be sweet. Were you out window-shopping with the rest of the Habs fans, Northside? Saw you guys on TV.
Ugh, rough night but congrats to the Habs and all their fans. There's not much to say other than they outplayed the Pens and deserved to win. First Washington, now Pittsburgh....talk about one hell of a run. I can honestly say it was a clear and a clean win for Montreal as far as I'm concerned and I have no problem rooting for the Habs here on out. Good luck -- we'll get ya next year!
yep i had the same feeling after the series with the Caps. They were both clean wins by the Habs.. nothing dirty, nothing unfair overall.. just one team (and goalie) dominating by the end of it
yeah, I was on Crescent which is where I hear at least some of the cameras were checking out. though I doubt you could have picked me out...that crowd was a mess. Left right before the looting started too. a good night overall. Hats off to the Pens organization and fans though, classy all the way. Props to the Pens players and fans that acknowledge the Habs are doing something special. This is like a shot in the arm for the NHL...I only hope casual hockey fans are enjoying it as much as us here in Hockey Central are.
