Little late for my game one prediction but here it goes... Don't be surprised to see Sale struggle with command...maybe even lose some velocity. I see Red Soxs playing some shaky defense...I just don't think they are ready....could be wrong, just a gut feeling. Game is going to be close. Should we be concerned with Verlander out of the Stretch?....have to see. I feel heroes will emerge in the 9th and it won't be who you think. I'm guessing Reddick and Gurriel have big 9th innings. Don't be surprised to see the long ball. If I was forced to give a score....I'm going with 7-2 Astros. Alright....see you tomorrow morning with my game 2 prediction. Later.
If the Astros didn't score those last 5 runs the Red Sox would have been right there with a chance to win.
Why do you think that? If there's a game 5, he's the starter. Might even have to start game 4. That's ridiculous and not fair.
All I know is a win today puts Boston in a position to have to take 4 out of 5 from us to win the series. Lets get it done.
Velocity has been down. He's either hurt, tired, or arm isn't warmed up. Either way, it isn't good for Red Sox. That said, they don't have many options.
They have an incredible lineup so the Astros will have to pitch well to take the series. That’s a big loss in my opinion. Sale has looked rather pedestrian due to health.
If the Astros get a little jump early, like 2 runs in the 1st, price will be pulled. We will get into that pen early and win easily.
Well.....yeah.....but, the Astros did score those last 5 runs and the Red Sox did next to nothing offensively the entire game. Keep in mind Boston was ‘right there’ for 8 innings and did nothing offensively about it except take advantage of Verlander’s one Inning of wildness. Also, being ‘right there’ in the top of the 9th, their bullpen was overwhelmed by the Astros.
I know the Astros are playing well, but I’ll be surprised if anything comes easily. This run will very much still have to be earned.
Missed the game, because of my daughter's birthday. Glad we got the win and hope we sweep these guys, although I know that's probably not realistic. Go Stros!
Lance looked absolutely devastating. If he fully embraces this BP role then holy **** our bullpen just became astronomical
They don't...that's why I'm saying this is likely not the last time we'll see him in this series, one way or another. If they get a win in the next 2, he'll pitch game 5. If it's 3-0, he's going to start or be the first out of the pen for Game 4.
McHugh also looked great Game 3 Indians and last night. Crazy movement on his breaking ball and locating pitches. Pressly, McHugh, McCullers, Osuna Josh James and sprinkle in Sipp for the occasional lefties. Wow!
