I believe one of our Radio (John and Lance?) guys said you can’t bench Tunsil, bc he’ll all of the sudden have an ‘injury’ and refuse to play. I think Pendergrass said the only time the dude shows emotion is on Twitter when he’s reacting to other O line contracts with emojis. He’s that type of dude.
For the first game of the season, we as Texans fans thought we had an elite offensive line, FINALLY! Scruggs goes down for game 2, and the whole thing gets exposed as pyrite…. The OL in game 3 was the Achilles heel of the team, it killed any momentum the team was trying to build. Pyrite = fool’s gold The most disappointing aspect of the craziness is that Tunsil who was called out for the penaltie(S), tries to blame others for those penalties. And disingenuously and reluctantly says he’ll own up to them just because others say he committed them, not because it was him committing the costly mistakes. No team can succeed if the running back can get you 4 years rushing, but the Offensive line hands out 5 yard false starts like candy on Halloween. Tunsil was afraid he was going to get beat for repeated sacks, so he cheated and got caught.
JG is that guy he makes plenty of tackles look dumb with his bend. Hate to break this to you guys but as of right now Tytus is our best offensive lineman. Tape bears that out. We are getting killed inside particularly on the guards. Tunsil is a one dimensional LT. I saw some cracks last year, but was willing to allow the "It was the injuries" wave to crash over. I need to see more Blake Fisher soon. Green/Mason need to show something otherwise you have to give Patterson some burn.
Twice last week, Sweat, head on, mini eurostepped to get across Tytus with ease. No bend needed by Sweat. Apparently came to camp overweight. If Tytus is the best, we're in deep trouble.
He sounds like my Taiwanese buddies dad back in the late 90's getting pissed and breaking down all of the mistakes that his son made on his Algebra II test.... on Friday night when we just want to go play basketball, smoke some weed and pork the Pappas sisters.
I at least hope you went to Pappasito's or Pappadeaux after said porking to satisfy the weed munchies
Tunsil learned very early on (the draft) that he needs to get his before someone takes it from him. None of this is new or even shocking, he has always been this way - and it really shouldn't be treated like he is the only one. He is a top 5-10 LT in the NFL and he is durable, he knows that as long as he is "good" that he can do anything he wants... good LT's can get away with more than even QB's because their skill set is so individualized. Tunsil knows that the Texans will not cut or bench him - and if they do, someone will trade for him. He has his money -
Thats kind of the point. We do not have a vaunted OL even after the huge investments made. Man I wish we could go back in time and swap Trent Williams for Laremy Tunsil. Maybe that domino would have led to a better iteration of what we have now. I guess we can fall back on the "Its still early" card.
Dam, Tunsil just quit on the 2nd level block........................the more I see the more I am getting pissed. I`m ready to see Fisher come in and at least give effort. From other posts it seems like he has the FO over a barrel at this point, he got his and that's the most important thing
Juice is not my biggest worry. He has rookie mistakes - last game he was allowing NT to shoot A gap too much, but all in all he's a fine young center. Im very concerned about our guard spots. They are not communicating on simple twist stunts in pass pro and getting mauled in the run game.
He played decent last year too or at least he wasnt the eye sore on film. Its crazy to see how much he's regressed this season. Rewatching the offensive plays so far and my eyes dart back and forth between Green and Mason and Im flummoxed.
Can't believe you people bullied Tytus into deleting his account. *pro bowl alternate incoming for Howard
