This. I get that being a "company man" is not Tunsil's thing, but there is the other extreme of being a complete mercenary ala Clowney. Tunsil could get away with not being a team player/role model when his performance spoke for itself. But now his mindset may be rubbing off on the rest of the o-line. This is something that we can't know from the outside, but DeMeco does know.
"A former coach had to negotiate to get Tunsil to practice." Zeirlein I hate when they get dramatic, just say the name. Now we have to play the game. Culley?
I would agree, my biggest grip is the way he handles himself as a diva. He doesn't do training camp, got his money and then said how he was going to be a leader and then still doesnt do training camp. I dont know the dude but the "perception" is that he doesn't have the type of fire that D Ryans has. I was hoping we moved him in the off season but I dont think you can trade him right now. The final straw for me was not taking 100% responsibility last night, that was ALL on you big man, get paid like the best then play the best. Pre snap penalties are not just drive killers they suck the morale out of folks after awhile................hell I had to switch over to the Astros in the 3rd quarter because I was so mad
The helmet on the center's belt? Then 78 should have had even more penalties called. The ref's bailed him out by not calling some of them. I guess they didn't want to embarrass him too much. All of these below should have been called.
4 first round picks (if you count the Tunsil trade) have been invested in this OL since 2019 and they're still mediocre at best. The indy game was a fluke against a Gus Bradley defense that's currently the worst run defense in football. All of this is compounded by and OC that calls long, slow developing plays that usually end with CJ rolling out and trying to improvise at best, or a sack/pick at worst.
So we hired Chris Strausser as O Line coach. He was the Colts O Line coach from 2019-22. Colts fans were ecstatic when he left. Their O line has played better apparently.
Tytus, "I didn't get beat. Go look at the tape." Ok. Maybe beat was the wrong word. There is no effort in his blocks. Looks like when you warm up with the Oline before practice begins
I don’t think Tytus is going half speed I think he’s just not that good. Probably average to below average starting RT
I think our line last year was better because they were hungry, Tunsil is just lazy, and Howard just isn't that good. The penalties have been an issue since he got here there just worse and Tunsil blocking on the backside of a run play is just a joke..................I hate to say it but it looks like he just doesn't care Remember last year when the mentality was, I`ll do whatever it takes for the TEAM to do better to this. Can't do much now but the O Line should be a hot topic after the season, I am done with Tunsil
