his defence is underrated. even the best point guard has to fear luis coming out of nowhere to poke the ball away. He just causes a lot of confusion out there. it's what he does.
Think some people really undervaule Scola, he's a very good player whose been improving since he's seen real playing time. I've never understood why some people on here want to give him away. It'd have to be a hellva deal for me to be ok with him being traded. Oh and those of you who think he's just a hustle guy are probably not paying attention, he's a solid all around player. If you actually watch the games and pay attention you would see that he does a hellva lot more than just hustle.
For who? Scola makes what, 3 / 4 millions? Name above average 7 footers who play good defense and make similar money. If you find one, I will approve the trade.
He is a solid offensive player. Problem is he gives up almost as much as he scores on defense. He's also not fleet of foot, which hurts when paired with Yao. I think he's a solid power forward, but he's expendable in the right offer.
Scola is one of the few players in the league that doesn't really have an ego and can fit in any type of system he is asked to play in. I hope the Rockets do keep him, I don't want that 50 IQ Amare Stoudemire on this team for him. I wouldn't mind Amare on this team, but trading Scola for him is not worth it.
we dont need a damn poward foward and if we give up artest, brooks and landry for amare, we got raped.
Yeah it's not so hard nor does it require very much athleticism to patch that mistake up, which makes me think he can fix it in time. But for now he's caught the disease a lot of Rockets have on his defense against the PnR: No-Man's-Land-itis.
I would cosign the "dont trade Scola" petition if there was one lol. It would be near impossible to get the same value back. And besides... sometimes i feel Scola is the only reason i watch the game nowadays. I would like to see more Von Wafer and Deke also but Adelman cut the former's minutes and wont even play the latter. Its hard to watch a team that doesnt play together and is poorly coached. Well, I still have faith that they can turn things around. If there is a trade, giving up Scola would be a big mistake unless they are getting someone BIG and Amare is not it. That is one selfcentered man.
I would definitely miss Scola, but if we are going to get a Kobe or Lebron in return I am alright with it, other than those two, he better stay a Rocket.
I like Scola. He's one of my most favorite players on the team. That said, without him we still have a good offensive option with Landry, and a good defensive option with Hayes for that spot. Scola has a very nice contract and he could be very attractive to other teams. In my opinion, the Rockets would be foolish to treat him as an untouchable.
Unfortunately, when he goes out to gamble like that, he frequently creates confusion for our defense as well.
I wish Scola was a better man to man defender. He is great at defending the Pick n rolls, and he is great at rotating on defense. My problem is he is bad at defending when the guy he is guarding has the ball.
Oh my god. I've posted something wrong here. This is the right one. Scola is one of the smartest players in this team.
If Scola go , the one we get need meet the requirements 1. could fit in the system 2. could play with Yao, or why need Yao 3. could scoring 4. could do great defense 5. should be play hard in the court if can't meet the requirements.. our team couldn't be better
