Is this something that you've heard or read somewhere, or just speculation on your part? I could see Miami being interested in Rice/Taylor/Moochie, but I honestly feel that they could get more than that for Jones/Grant.

guess you forgot the Bulls had that #8 pick a year ago, a 6-6 pg by the name of Jamal Crawford

And you haven't read all the posts either. I did mention him in the later posts & should've included him in the original 10 man rotation that I posted. However, he's still an unknown variable & has been injured severely. There's no guarantee that he'll fully recover or won't reaggravate the same injury. Moochie is a known variable & very good.

How about the Rockets just win the lottery this season? Or even if they don't win the lottery, as long as the Rockets can draft Jason Williams before the Bulls, we could just trade him for Miller and the Bulls 1st draft pick. I'm sure the Bulls would kill to get Williams. Other Rockets players could be thrown in too.

If the Rockets won the lottery, they wouldn't worry about Jason Williams -- they would go straight for Yao Ming!

But the Bulls would be stupid enough to trade us Miller and their pick, which we could use for Ming anyway, just so they ensure we dont draft Williams, which we wouldnt do regardless.

If we land in the top 5, I'd try to trade the pick plus maybe KT, and get a star, similar to the SAR and Elton Brand deals. I've mentioned before that either Lamar Odom or Darius Miles should be available this summer, because it's questionable whether Sterling will give multiple max contracts, and Elton Brand will surely get one. Odom would fit very nicely.

Here's one more "deal" I think could make some sense-
Jonathan Bender/Bruno Sundov for Kenny Thomas/Jason Collier.

Indiana has locked up Croshere, Rose, and Harrington long term already. With Tinsley playing well at PG, Bender really just can't get the minutes. Currently, he's getting 14.4 MPG. The Pacers do not have a player like KT, and he could be even more effective in the East.

For Houston, the season is in shambles, and planning for the future is a good idea. Bender is a long athlete with a deadly shot, and could put SF woes away for a long time. KT's future is very unclear, with Griffin showing all-star potential, and Mo Taylor coming back. Sundov and Collier are throw-ins.

Can we trade Mo Taylor back to the Clippers? Kandi is a free agent and gone. I do like D. Miles. He's stuck behind Brand and Odom. The Clips will need a Center, and a backup pf/sf D. Miles replacement who works on the cheap - cuz it is Sterling. Hmmm...

    KT/Cato for Kandi/D.Miles ?

Renounce Kandi at season end if he continues to be Kandi, clear cap space. I wonder, though, if MJax will end up there this year first. The CLips do need to move now to get value for D.Miles, if they're not going to pay him. They have done nothing before tho.
Alternatively, they gamble Odom mk val is diminished by pothead status...but, will that bother Portland ?

    Waiting for Jan 15.

As sad as it sounds and I've said it before, the Clippers have players teams want and we don't. They have a multitude of ways they can turn to make this team not only a playoff lock for yrs to come, but serious contenders. They have 3 legit players in Q,Odom, and Brand , after that they have players loaded with "potential" in Meggatte and Miles. Even a sorry player like Kandi could get you something good. We don't have a dillemma like that because we have older expensive players like Walt,Rice, and to a certain extent Cato because of him paychecks.

Jackson in La for Kandi makes sense straight up. Their salaries alond with Lafrentz are within 15% off each other i think. Meggette and Miles could get you something real, real good like Maybe Andre Miller, or even someone who is pretty good like Brad Miller. Knowing the Clippers and the owner, they will mess it up somehow, i just wish we had ball players instead of system players.

you guys b**** about cato every two seconds. give me a break.

how can you not trade him for a 2nd round pick (if possible) for the mere fact of saving cash and more cap room. you could sign any minimum guy of similar size and he could do just as well. dont lie. you would trade him for a 2nd rounder.

Last year, I would've given you a draft pick to take him. With his change of attitude this year, I put a higher value on him than a second round pick. Don't get me wrong, he's still a bonehead, but at least he's a 7 foot bonehead with a much improved attitude. He hasn't been depressed once this year. He still couldn't catch glue, if it hit him in the hands, but he does provide a better inside defensive presence than he has done in previous years.

reason #243 why this board should not be allowed to make up trades.

I'd trade Cato for a second round pick in a second. Rudy generally has pretty successful second rounders.

I still think you are too harsh on some of the trade ideas. Its like anytime there is any trade proposed that isnt obviously hurtful to the Rockets, you can be counted on to say "no way, no sir, no etc, no, etc, etc"

SOME of the trades ARE ridiculous. But, some arent.

Take the Cato/KT for Miles/Olowoakandi propostion.

Lets look at stats for this year.

    Cato
    5.8ppg, 5.6 rpg, 0.3apg, 0.32spg, 0.79 bpg
    KT
    13.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.31 spg, 0.62 bpg

    vs.

    Olowoakandi
    6.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 0.8 apg, 0.62 spg, 1.97 bpg
    Miles
    8.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.9 apg, 0.97 spg, 1.48 bpg

Looking at it, it is relatively close. There is a possibility this trade could happen. Is it likely..certainly not. Despite Thomas' obvious statistical superiority over all the other players in the proposal, Miles and Olowoakandi are probably better defensively and Cato is just really bad, imo. Plus, the Clips dont need to be adding another KT like player with Brand, who is similar in size but much better. But there is no need to completely discount such proposals as not possible at all. We all know that trades like this get made every year. These guys are just trying to find different proposals that could possibly work.

    *sigh*

comparing stats like that doesnt always work.

the HOU-LAC deal is crap. i mean if your the clips, do you even consider it for one second? no way.

thats why i said LA wouldnt do it if you read the post. Your responses to proposed trades, on the other hand, generally tend to add no value. Most of the posters on this board, including myself, understand why that trade probably wouldnt work. However, it wasnt Moochie and Langhi for Vince Carter. Someone seriously proposed it and, to add useful value as an unbiased source it would be greatly appreciated if instead of posting curt, bland and useless responses, you tried to explain your reasoning to those who might think that trade would be sensible on LA's part. It only takes a little effort.

I will pay $$$ to get rid of Cato. If there's one thing the Donald responds to, it's money. Cato/Kandi and cash. Get rid of that cancer. Throw in whoever you have to to make the sal fit, and cash cash cash. Bye bye. You won't miss him. Kandi may be a stiff who's certainly out the door at the end of this season, but I'd much rather have his sticky hands than that sorry, shuffling, oven-mitted, heavy-lidded, pinheaded sadsack manning the "center" now. Geez, what a boneheaded contract. How much to I have to pay to get the shackles off ?!?

What's the name of this thread...?
