Hey, here's an idea, why don't you roll the dice to get some shooters around T-Mac and Yao?

Until the slip against Portland, T-Mac was playing relatively well even injured, he was starting to pick it up again. Then he got this injury in which the doctor said is completely different.

I say we go after Peja and Garnett.

A trio of Peja, Garnett, and Yao would be sweet, regardless of who else is on the court.

I'd take KG any day over Duncan. Any FREAKIN' DAY!!! And I would rather have KG than T-Mac right now, if only because of T-Mac's back. Yao and KG would give you 45-50 points a night, and KG could really help us out in the rebounding department. If we only got 18 out of Peja, we'd be a better team. NO PLAYER ON THIS TEAM IS UNTOUCHABLE IF THE MOVE MAKES US BETTER, MORE CONSISTENTLY.

If you're going to trade T-Mac, please trade him to GSW so I can see him more often on TV :p .

But for real, why trade T-Mac? I think we have to give him a shot. Our problem isn't T-Mac or Yao, it's the rest of the team and maybe coach included.

could we add one of the milwaukee point guards they have 3 good one's

mo williams would be a great third scorer, not sure how well TJ would fit with Yao, and damn have seen Charlie Bell fill in several times with the others out injured, pretty much play the full game and he does an amazing job......

I've liked Mo Williams since he was with Utah. Wouldn't mind having him on our team.

Maybe this is what had TMac so upset before the allstar game. We told him we were inquiring about trading him. Na. Well if it is possible we absolutely should do it. We would have the best frontcourt in the leauge. With Ming hitting his prime and KG still in his we would be tough.

    well looking at your sig..

if we have a chance at all in getting Sam back with T-mac
    here..

    why not with Garnett?

i have no idea if the numbers work.. or what Sam's
    asking price will be..

but, if we could.. there's your closer.

not advocating trading T-mac, just curious.

    KG to Houston...Forget about it.

We have one good pick in the draft, I hope we get a good SG (Roy/Ray).
Pick up a decent PF via free agency/Swift trade.
Maybe even swing a deal for a decent PG option...Udric?
Bring in the much anticipated Greek (Vassilis Spanoulis) as our backup SG.
Resign Hayes and Wesley to minimum deals.

    2006 Opening day lineup:
    Yao/Mutombo?
    (New PF via trade/FA)/Howard/Hayes
    T-Mac
    (New SG via draft)/Spanoulis/Wesley
    Beno Udric/Alston/Head

That at least gets us to the second round

Yeah, but one of the biggest reasons Kobe was taking the shots at the end of games is because Shaq couldn't make his free throws. Players tend to get fouled a lot toward the end of games, and in a tight one, you just don't want the ball in Shaq's hands. Yao is actually our best free throw shooter, so the situation is very different.

As for the article, it was a great read. I'd love adding Peja as a third scorer on this team and I drool at the thought of all the wide open jumpers he'd get to take on a team with Yao and McGrady. Make no mistake about it, Peja has never played with anyone who demanded so much attention, much less two players that demand that kind of attention.

I'm not sure that the author is right in saying Howard would become the first capable backup Garnett has ever had. I'd actually guess that if we traded T-Mac for Garnett, Garnett would be penciled in as our SF. He's certainly capable of playing the position and losing T-Mac would leave the biggest hole there. I'm not sure how I feel about a KG for T-Mac trade though. The back problems have us all very concerned, but T-Mac seems like he's better suited to play with Yao than Garnett would be. I just can't help but think back to Olajuwan and Barkley.

I think the only proposed T-Mac trade I've seen that I really liked was T-mac + Swift to Seattle for Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. I think now that Yao has emerged as one of the most dominant big men in the game, those guys would be perfect fits around him.

Other trades I would be calling about if I were CD-

Swift to NOK for JR Smith + Aaron Williams OR Speedy Claxton

Or Swift + filler for Desmond Mason

no one has to worry how they feel about a kg/t-mac trade because it's not happening. i'll keep repeating this until people understand this simple concept: if you want to trade him because of his injuries, no team will give away a player of his stature for the pleasure of taking on mac's contract. why make that kind of gamble? a max salary + injured player (why risk finding out if it's permanent if you dont' have to?) = disaster, ask the magic about grant hill.

There is ZERO chance the Rockets would trade Tmac this offseason. Imagine us trading Tmac and it turns out nothing was ever seriously wrong with him.

Remember the doctors have never said that anything is chronically wrong with him. Only Tmac keeps claiming he has a bulging disk or something. Anyways, we trade him after one injury plagued season and if he gets back to normal 30 ppg Tmac it would be the single worst decision in pro sports history.

The Rockets should and will give the Tmac and Yao combo another season to see if it can be injury free.

Priority #1 should be having T-mac's back checked out by every single one of the world's back specialists/surgeons. Hopefully something can be done. If not, then you consider the trade for Garnett.

    An uninjured T-mac > Garnett.

Before Tmac played his 1st NBA game. Since then Tmac had hit at least 20. So it's 20-0 Tmac.

Why do people act like we would be getting robbed if we traded a healthy TMac for Garnett and a lotto pick? Garnett is one of the best players in the NBA, the lotto pick is gravy. I would do that trade if you told me there was a 90% chance TMac's back would be fine forever. Garnett can resonably be expected to provide 20-12-5 with excellent defense. We could certainly use the rebounding, and those kind of assist numbers from a big are outstanding. Athletic swingmen are the most common commodity in basketball, while MVP caliber PFs are numbered at about 2. If that deal is on the table (and the only reason it would be is if Garnett demands it, even McHale is not on the lookout for chronically injured players to trade his one asset for) you jump on it and leave 200 bucks on the nightstand on your way out the door.
