Would add Tristan Thompson and Derrick Favors to trade targets. Age doesnt fit timeline but Wood needs inside help on D.
Solid list and of people that are actually reasonable who might come to houston I love the toughness of Bobby Portis, I think hes won a title and his whole thing is to go get a bag right now. If we don't sign Kelly, he makes a lot of sense for us. Hary Giles is another guy that never lived up, but he still can do way better than he has. Silas has an offense that like it did for kelly, can bring out Giles's great playmaking which is really not featured. Hes oung too and can fit our sytstem Cam Payne...never though I'd recommend the kid dancing with westbrook, but now he can fit. AFter playing in the finals and as mcuh so after getting cut and almost out of the league as a lottery guy, he cacn serve as an amazing veteran to let these guys know the urgenc of how fast this league moves if you don't put in the workd. Bamba is another guy who might be underused and valued in Orlando and maybe we can give him a fresh start and hes got such crazy measurements and a solid skillset, I'd love that. Great, realistic list
Yep, a former no 1 highly touted prospect. Went to DUke, injured the entire time. Drafted like MPJ with a high talent ceilng, but injury prone and might be a project To those who paid attention, when he got time and a leash he was pretty impressive on the high post. Very very impressive as a playmaker, had athletcism and the motor for boards but a slight frame made his defense tough, but he oculd still get those numbers if he was assertive. He had a comfortable touch to the top of the key ,barely to the 3 point lne but indicating he could extend and have that shot A lot of will come down to the 'between the ears' stuff if he can apply it, if hes committed, but I think he would be a low risk high reward that could work wonderfully. We have a lot o opportunity and minutes to be had.
Random trade idea but... Ben Simmons? For Gordon and however many picks makes it right? Porter - Green - Tate - Simmons - Wood Augustin - Thomas - Martin - Olynyk Wall can get fkd lol If nothing else we'd make the playoffs and hate Simmons for free throw shots.
Marc Stein: There was considerable chatter heading into the draft that Chicago’s Daniel Theis will be a prime free-agent target for the Houston Rockets.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-on-cp3-the-lowry-domino-emerging-pg-carousel The Rockets are expected to bring on center Daniel Theis, perhaps landing the veteran via sign-and-trade through an $8 million trade exception. (The Mavericks are considered the favorite by league sources to sign Sterling Brown.)
Ty @J.R. ... I still hope we S&T Olynyk (& other pieces) for Myles Turner, but Theis makes sense. Just not a huge fan...
Theis over Olynk (presumably) is interesting… The Rockets really need to clear out some guards from their roster. You presumably want plenty of minutes for Green and KPJ, and probably some more to see what you have in guys like Armoni Brooks and Khyri Thomas and Josh Christopher. With Gordon, Wall, and Augustin… that’s a crunch. I’d love to exercise the option on Bradley and get something (anything) for him too. A Gordon trade (probably with House too) makes a ton of sense. I’d personally love to also bring back Nwaba to help with the young guns… but the roster construction is a bit weighted towards players under 6-5 as it is.
Theis at $8mil a year could be a good value to keep on the Rockets or in a trade later in the season or offseason. Olynk sign and trade would be nice to gain an asset somehow.
Man what kind of sh*t is going on when there are "favorites" being leaked for players like Brown and Thies??
