All these players are your second best player on a championship team, not the franchise player. Stephen Curry is like your Brandon Roy type of player - need another star or two to play with him

They'd be a good start, but you'd still need that center piece, the transcendant one as these are all very nice ballplayers. But...

I'm not so sure about that.....Stephen Curry ever score 50 with Ron Artest draped all over him in the playoffs??? I don't really see the comparison....

I know this isn't the point of the thread, but I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that we would be able to compete with all 3 of those teams. All we would need is someone in the middle who only wanted to play defense and rebound, where could we get a guy like that?????

Well, Roxxy, seems like great minds think alike. Since we agreed on those other players, I'm sorta interested in what you think about Al Jefferson on the Rox. I'll admit I don't know the most about him, so I'm always interested in other ppl's opinions.

BTW, how did you get 1,000 posts in one month??? Incredible....

You've got to remember "Dat Dude", in Post Badlee's mind we don't need any more players, we have all of the Solid, All-Star, Hall of Fame quality players already here!

    LeBron, Dirk, and D.Howard

    None.

These players made sense when we had Lowry, Dragic, Scola, Lee, Camby, etc. Not now.

Also why is Curry lumped in this, he sucks.

curry is insanely talented. the problem is that he has rolled his right ankle 15 times (literally!) in the last 3 years. saying he sucks is pretty ridiculous. that's like saying yao sucked because he kept getting hurt.

Harden and Smith. I like Curry too, only player I absolutely don't want is Granger.

Harden is only 23. Dude has a long ways to go before he peaks. A lin, harden backcourt could do damage and will only get better together.

thats one series. You'll hold a YOUNG PLAYER who played bad in the FINALS to one series but you have confidence that multiple players from one draft will be all-stars based on summer league performances? What if we held lebron to the standard we are holding harden to. I'm not saying he will be a superstar but he definitely has the potential to be one. What can't he do? He can shoot, he can get to the hoop, hes the best playmaker on that team(the offense runs better through him than westbrook) and he's not a great defender but he can defend....

With the same amount of experience in the league as Harden has, at least one of our rookies will be or will have been an all-star. My bet is either DMo or Lamb.
We did for an entire offseason after the Heat lost to the Mavs in the finals a couple of seasons ago.

Curry and Harden would obviously best fit what we're trying to do. I'd have to assume Lin would be included in one of those trades.

Smith and Granger are veteran guys who are not superstars, so I don't see a great fit there.

To expand on that--NONE of these players are current superstars, and Josh Smith/Danny Granger will never be superstars. Curry and Harden could become superstars.

2 and 3 would be nice. We already have PG so Steph Curry would be redundant. Steph Curry is more like a SG than PG and he is incredibly injury prone. Harden is better and not injury prone. Josh Smith is a great defender enough said.
