You can mark down whatever you want but his player history just doesn't bear that out. JJ hasn't cracked 3 apg in the past 7 years, while T-mac has been able to do it in each of his last 5 years. And T-Mac has beaten JJ in spg every year except his rookie season.

Don't think he'll *lead* in assist. But he should be able to raise his assist above 3.0. He'll be passing to McGrady (instead of Francis) and an improved Yao. That should go a long way.

Any team with Francis could not achive any resemblance of an "beautiful offense." I should point out the next sentence was the following..."It's just not quite always smart enough to get the job done." I just left that out of Lopez's original quote.

But if you miss Francis ball. Not all is lost. You can go to http://www.nba.com/magic/ Enjoy...

By the way, take note of the title from the original article...

It takes smarts to play the Van Gundy way

I think Ward will fly under the radar. He'll play team basketball without turning the ball over, something we're not used to. Plus he understands JVG's system better than anyone that played on the team last lear under JVG.

Yeah i think ward will do the thing that we needed Steve to do all this time. Just not turn it over. If he just runs this team and doesn't play outside of his game we will be in a lot more games instead of turning it over all game and loosing.
