the spirit of the bet has never changed. Crisco and I have been in full agreement on the terms from day one. The spirit of the bet is to turn the big summer debate into a bet..."What is more important, upgrading the SF or frontline?" Everything else is merely turning that debate into a bet that will consummate without arguments. Sam, if you can write bet terms that expresses the spirit of the debate more succinctly, I am all ears.
I've changed my mind about not picking sides. After spending a whole year of letting Dan Langhi serve his time on the bench, there's no way they're going to screw him over and have him sitting on the bench for another year b/c the Rocks drafted yet another SF. We need strong interior defense, that means centers and power forwards. This talk about trading up for Gasol is a huge smokescreen, the Rockets are going big. I think your wording of the bet is fine, heyp. Unlike some others here, I'm not asking about hypotheticals or trying to clarify the terms. I see them. I just understood the original spirit of the bet to be your argument that "a third point guard is more important than upgrading the SF spot." I totally disagreed with that, but I do agree with you that getting a big man (assuming Dream leaves) is more important than a wing player.
