Is it too late to join this bet? If not, sign me up for HeyP's side. I am not that attached to my moniker, and, damnit, at least it presents something to do during these doldrums of the offseason.

If the Rocket's trade up, they will take a C. If not, they will take a SF at 13, or a C anyway. Regardless, no SF to be had at 13 will be good enough to jump ahead of Langhi on the depth chart before the season.

    SIGN ME UP, BOYS!

I'll join (on the HP side), but only if I can be matched up with SpaceCity.

    Whaddaya say, Spacey? [IMG]

Yes indeed. I would get in on the action, but I would have weed through 190+ posts to see what is going on and I just don't operate like that! I guess that's what happens when you don't pay attention to threads that take on a life of its own! [IMG]

Since RR wants in on your side HP then I'll balance it out and be on Crisco's side if it's not to late.

    Kim:

There's a pair of actors who go by the name "Silent J and Bob." They've been in several movies, such as Dogma and (I think) Mallrats. Bob does all the talking, and Silent J does all the backing up of Bob. Funny stuff.

I thought it was "Silent Bob," not "Silent J."

    HP -
If you read this far, put me in with the "Undecided ChickenButts".

There are just too many wacky things which can happen in any draft let alone this years'! I have been the Gater since 9th grade. Just too risky.

I know HP has clearly defined the rules, but I see a lot of margin for complications. On a purely intuitive level, I just have a feeling ya'all are going to be real upset with each other.

(PS - If forced at gunpoint, I'd say Langhi is starting Game 1 ie, we're picking a 5).

Actually, I'm a big time "chucker", but I'm sure I can come up with something more original for you than "Kim" [IMG]when you lose!

If the sides get evened out, I don't want to face off with franchise just because his post count is way too low. If I get the 2 for 1 then I want to matchup with him, but if not, I want to be matched up with someone with a high post count...

Hey HeyP, I'm on your side with this one.

Walt will more than likely be the starting SF, with Langhi having his back.

    Awww,chuck,that's downright nasty! [IMG]

On topic, all you suckers are going down [IMG] .On november 1st Crisco and many others like me will have our good looking,long-lasting monikers while the others will start again the journey for respect, hahaha!!

I have a question(2 really, one made before and one of my own).Do the winners get to take their competition's moniker away (I could get my post count way up in just a second if I pair smartly)And if not, what happens to these nicknames?will clutch delete them cause the losers may be tempted to post with their old monikers and hope nobody notices.

Sorry if the answers are somewhere between these 6 pages of words, maybe that's why I only managed to get 160 posts in 2 years,I'm lazy [IMG]

    Gater,

We simplified the bet adjudication even more. Crisco and I will decide who won, and we will have one arbitrator in case one of us does not concede. Everyone else must live or die with who wins based on that. We could also do a vote with a tie-breaker person, accept them we will get some CriscoKiddies pretending to be HeySuckers just to make me eat my bet. I the immortal words of George Bush, Sr "Not gonna happen." There will be no double agents or spies.

I think the only thing still to decide is what type of names are not allowed. The most creative stuff (and I believe the goal of your naming) should be keeping all or part of the previous name in tact. The goal should be that everyone still knows who the poster is. Try tranplanting your name ontop of the losers name.

haven v behad is a great example

    Miss BeHaven vs newbiehad

notice how behad actually superimposes part of his name on the Misses. Notice how haven annoys the hell out of Behad by superimposing all the newbie's onto Behad.

Now that is classic renaming! Oh, and notice how we will still all remember who they are.

So, who thinks we should allow respective teammates to veto some name choices if too profane or something. Gratiutous silliness can always be improved upon. We have all summer to decide.
