He doesn't fit with the Mavs, as much as he did with the Lakers. He needs to be one a team that has a strong center or power forward that he can compliment.

    http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/7622264/no-timetable-lamar-odom-return-dallas-mavericks

    Sam Amick ‏ @sam_amick
[rquoter]So per @ESPN_Caplan, Lamar Odom hasn't rejoined Mavericks yet while tending to sick father in LA. Some folks wondering about possible buyout. He's owed $8.9 million this year (pro-rated, 66 gms), $2 million buyout for next season. But source tells me buyout isn't going to happen. There's no timetable for Odom's return, says Mavs coach Rick Carlisle, & no indication Odom even wants buyout. Tough stuff on family front.[/rquoter]

    Brian Cuban ‏ @bcuban
[rQUOTEr]Don't think it will happen but it also would not shock me if Lamar Odom announced he was done for the year

    . . . .

@cinderelisha: @bcuban Odom's game is off, he is not getting play time

@bcuban: @cinderelisha he' not getting playing time because he's playing like **** when he's in.. pretty simple[/rquoter]

    Odom angling for a buyout?

Hasn't reported back after missing a game to be with his "gravely ill" dad in LA....who told TMZ that he was fine and just had a stomach bug. Now hearing that he wants the Mavs to buy him out so he can rejoin the Lakers or Clips...

    Poor Kardashian.

Derek Fisher giving him ideas? :)

If I were Mavs owner or GM, no way I'd buy him out and make my nearest competitors better. Would shelf him for the year or trade him.

Its really becuz he and dirk are repetitive in skillset. What works with a guy like odom is he can come in and play the 4. When he does that,it allow your big forward to slide down. In dallas, dirk can't really do that like gasol could. Dirk is your best player and so he will play the biggest minutes at the 4. I would let him play more 3 again like he did coming into the league in certain matchups.

    so was ariza

they got odom for nothing because people who actually know basketball know he isn't worth that much. he isn't that good of a player as people think he is, people need to lower their expectations.

    Odom had serious value.

He was the only piece the Hornets would have gotten from the Lakers in the Pau Gasol "trade."

If they didn't want Odom, the Rockets could have traded for CP3 straight up. (and then gotten more screwed by Stern)

Lamar Odom was the third best player on two championship teams.

    How you?

I heard some word that the Mavs might be looking at an Odom/Roddy B for Nash trade.

I'm not high on that since I'm a Roddy B fan and I think Nash truly has no more than two more decent seasons at best.

This. Hes wildly inconsistent. Essentially hasn't changed much since a rookie, makes a lot of dumb mistakes, checks out of game easily when faced with adversity...funnny thats how he approaches everything outside basketball too when the going gets tough he just tries to shut down

he has value he just doesn't like being in Dallas

Chicago, LA, NY, Miami would have him playing hard.

not talking the teams but the cities.

    he's a p***y with priorities ass backwards

Without Kobe he has no motivation. Going from the bright lights of LA to...Dallas, has well, dampened his spirit. But he gets paid something something million dollars a year, who is he to sulk?

Odom going from NBA to D-League is the same as Khloe going from buffet to fast food.
