He'd be a great pick-up but can you guys actually cheer for him? I can't after he and Walton punked Scola in the play-offs.
Exactly how would the Spurs "cruise" to the Finals? Is it the pick-ups of Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess that has you predicting recklessly like this? You do realize tha they would have to go through LA, right? You also realize that San Antonio was easily disposed of by an equally old and boring Dallas team that was then easily handled by Denver right? You also remember that Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess aren't exactly spry chickens, yeah? I'm just checking for brain damage.
How would the Rockets afford Odom? They would probably use part of their MLE for David A. The only scenario is a sign and trade but why would the Lakers do the Rockets a favor unless they get back Scola or Landry and others to make the deal work.
We got an injury exception for Yao which we used (value about 6m) on Ariza. Even so, Odom could make more from others, especially the Lakers. While I would love to see SOMEONE **** block the Fakers by signing away Odom, I see him ultimately landing back there. If we could get him with the very little we have to offer it would be a miracle - and a wet dream for Clutchfans. That said, I wouldnt offer anything big for Odom, but on the cheap he would be awesome.
I think he fits with morey's strategy in that he's versatile and can run but he doesn't fit in that he's not cheap and not young.
I say do it. Can't deny this guys talent just because we are faker haters. You see how all the Fakers are loving Artest (b*stard) right now. I think we need the height.
booooooooooooooooo....we already have a injury prone lazy ass player in mcgrady...we dont need another one... On a side note, i see scola having a 20 ppg 10 rpg year ahead...and the spurs, mavericks, and jazz suck big ones..hate em....
ill pass on his ass. plus we dont have a spot for him. supposedly he wants $10 million a year??? he's crazy. no thanks.
nor can the Heat and Mavs, so Odom is remaining Lakers for some more seasons to come. Besides I don't think Odom would make any improvement to Rockets even if Morey signed him somehow, as we have already got Scola and Ariza playing at the front-line.
they did & didn't. the rockets received a injury exemption for yao equal to the mle and used that to sign ariza. basically they had 2 mle's.
Fascinating. Your appraisal of Odumb is dead-on. He's a great 3rd or 4th option whose skills say he should be a 1st or 2nd option, and despite his history of falling on his face in such situations, he seems to think he should be that #1-#2 guy. But if there's an offense that could minimize LO's faults and maximize his strengths, it's this one. All of a sudden, I'm not 100% dead against this idea anymore. I'm still 95% against it, though, just because Odom is so frustratingly incapable of playing at a high level consistently.
