agree..the mavs have a pretty solid team right now. someone else already mentioned the blazers, i would put denver up there as well. They got a very solid team, don't think they will have a chance at winning it all, but they could do some serious damage in the first and second rounds.

On a side note, I really hope that the rockets do not make the playoffs. No chance at lottery and have no chance at winning. :(

Then why be a fan of the team if you basically quit on them? It is way to early to make such conclusions.

lol who said i quit on them???

First off...with the current roster...i am assuming with a healthy tmac coming back sometime early this season, we would have a chance at a low playoff seed...I am guessing around 6-8th spot. In other words we would be facing the lakers, spurs, mavs, denver or portland. What is our chances of winning??
seriously?? So that is why i prefer a chance at the lottery. offcourse i am assuming yao will not come back this year.

then again, i would love it if we can make it to the playoffs not on the back of tmac. (I am not a tmac hater nor someone who wants him to fail). I am just saying we all know what tmac is capable of. If our rookies or other players like brooks can carry us to the playoffs, then that would great. I say give our rookies a chance and see if they can perform.

Then again if we make another major trade or FA signing, which will give us a chance of winning, I am 100% behind that.

I think you got me wrong man. I am not quiting on this team, I am just saying that we should think about the future cause this current team is not gonna win now.

    By the way...GO ROCKETS.... ;)

Got you but such comments ( again ) is way too early to be made. Aside from the possibility of adding pieces that would strengthen the team. This team ( current ) was built to compete. This is basically the same team as last year's playoff team plus Ariza, Andersen and the rookies. On paper you might say that it lacks a star quality player but unless you see them play together, it is premature to count them out.

The Nugs best chance has come & gone. Unless they use the $10 mil trade exemption they have, they're nothing more than a second round or bust team. Personally, I still have us above Portland but that's only because I'm unsure how Miller is going to fit in there.

Heh...well I can guess...seems like it likes to fly around Houston during the entire year for all of our pro teams...

100% agree. Like I said before, i feel that with this team if we can make the playoffs, that means if we add a star or two in 2010 would mean we can really compete for a ring. As i see it, all the player you mentioned plus brooks and co are all developing players. But what i fear is that we make the playoffs from heavy minutes by Tmac, which would IMO hender some of the development as I want to see brooks making the passes and ariza plus some of our rookies scoring. I won't mind if we loose games, but if this can develop our younger players to become good scores/passers/defenders...would really put us in good position for the future. I don't want to see big numbers by tmac so that we can just barely win games (although winning is good, but I just feel this year is a good opportunity to develop some of our younger guys).

Heavy minutes by Tmac would not hinder the progress of Brooks. In fact, playing with an offensive weapon would free up Brooks to do what He can do without trying to be the first option on offense. Scola and Landry would benefit from the double team of Tmac and would feed off his passes. ( Yes, world Tmac passes the ball. :D ) Development comes as experience is gained. Every year players get older and the time table in winning gets shorter. Each year should be treated as if the championship can be won because if they do not think so then it will just snowball into reality.

When did they say Odom would sign? There are still no indications of his signing.

Spurs are hands down best team in the West, they are loooooaded. Next is Lakers, then the Mavs. In the East its Boston, Orlando and Washington. Mark my words.

Spurs are loaded with a lot of old players that can break down during the season. The team reminds me of an old team that has been put together for one good run if all goes well health wise.
