I just moved to the OC and a lot of these people are tools. Really hope the Rockets show these pretty boys what grit looks like. I'm just not that impressed with the Lakers. Game 3 they didn't beat us that badly even though we just played like crap. We've blown them out twice. If we turn this into a gritty defensive struggle, we've got a chance.
Can you imagine how freaked out the Lakers and LA fans are gonna be if Houston manages to win Game 5??? Thinking about it makes me smile.
Whatever. We're going to be playing with absolutely NOTHING to lose, a hell of alotta heart, a team chemistry that is truly inspiring, and you can never count out a team as defensively sound as ours. I don't know about you guys, but I don't have near the jitters I had in the Portland series. We're not supposed to win, especially with our best player gone. But we can and the Lakers know it. The pressure is completely on their side now. All we have to do is have fun.
It's statements like these that make me wonder who the real fans are. I guess call Daryl Morey, Les Alexander, Rick Adelman, and all those other peeps in the Rockets' organization, and tell them to get back to Houston. No need to risk injuries for the players or the coaches or even the towel kids. Or better yet, let's just call TNT, ESPN, ABC, and even send a fax to everyone in Houston to let them know the Rockets won't win a final title this year, right? I mean, why even play the game, right? It's not like the Rockets ever won a Championship when they were counted out... *cough*1995*cough*... right? What a DUMB post, yours was, sir.
that's right.. this idiot ding is delusional if he thinks the fakers are going to "easily" take game 5 from us
seems like every media outlet is still underestimating us, even the lakers. they are in for a rude awakening in game 5. this small-ball team is for real. lakers defense has always been bad against quicker guards. brooks will have another field day.
Although I agree that the chances of the Rockets winning game 5 are slim at best, I would really love to see us pull off an upset just to see what this bum has to say.
Perfect, this is what we need them to think. Our game plan is to hang close enough, and puts the adversity in them at the beginning of the 4th. We need Kobe go one on 4 or 5. This is our only chance.
i couldn't be happier that we still are not given a chance. nobody is predicting us to win and that is to our advantage.
I love the smug attitude and the gutsy prediction. Good stuff. I'm not saying the Rockets will win Game 5. I think the Lakers have enough spine (for what that's worth) to respond accordingly. Just don't lose sight of the fact that this soft, mentally fragile Lakers team is going to COLLAPSE if they don't win Game 5. Absolutely collapse and crumble. So, yeah, you can talk as if this game is Houston's "Superbowl" but let's not forget that LA's season is on the line here too. How conveniently some forget this series is 2-2.
Kevin Ding's article fails on so many levels... he desperately needs to take off those purple-gold tinted glasses for a second. "Another factor is the Lakers' fourth-quarter push Sunday, cutting their deficit from 29 points to 10. Teams usually carry momentum or confidence from strong yet losing finishes on the road into outstanding and overwhelming starts at home the next game. That explains why Jackson had Bryant and Gasol in there so late in Game 4. Jackson was intent on re-establishing flow to the Lakers' attack so this next home game can again be the Lakers' gold standard, even after this last road game was such an ugly, purple welt." For lack of a better term, this guy is a complete noob.
Lol, this is coming from a paper that's teetering on closing it's doors. I'm a displaced Houstonian in LA and I recently heard a few weeks ago that the OCRegister probably won't survive more than another year or two. Anyways, I think he's deluding himself, as most of the other posts have pointed out, but one thing sticks out to me: "Complete game 3 victory". What?! Game 3 was far from a domination by the Lakers. The Rockets were within 6 in the 4th with plenty of time left and we only lost because we had an injured superstar hobbling up and down the court, refusing to stay on the bench. If Adelman had benched Yao through the whole second half, I think our chances would've been much better. Complete game my ###. I bet he just looked at the box score for that game.
I never said we could not or would not get something this year or we were fighting for nothing. my point is that this is a great season for rockets no matter whether they will beat lakers or not and i love rockets no matter how far we can go. correct your grammar, sir
Correct WHAT? "we" what? Irony at its best. What an ironic post from such a pessimist. I don't listen to PESSIMISTIC BANDWAGONERS, sir. THIS is what I mean: What gives you the knowledge? What grammar do you mean?
Winning game 5 will be pivotal for both teams. Whoever wins the game pretty much is their series to lose.
