Uh, sure... If you consider taking something completely out of context a "matter of perspective".

This is a matter of perspective/opinion. What you referenced above, not so much.

Eh. Media; I could care less. Team; I'm not so sure. I don't remember the team saying anything negative about him, it looks as if what he was upset about was the F.O./Coaches not coming out and defending him against the media. The storyline of the Bengals thinking he's a selfish, me-first malcontent doesn't fit with their adamantly wanting him to remain a Bengal.

Whining? About what? Not winning? When has he ever whined about not getting the ball, or not racking up yards/tds? He was as gracious as I've ever seen anybody be in taking a backseat to T.O. this year. I think you're misusing the term "diva". To me, that is someone that is 1) selfish and 2) high maintenance. Of which, Chad is neither. He's team first (as evidenced by his 1) incredible work ethic and 2) willingness to sacrifice his role on the team for it's greater good. And when has he ever been high maintenance? When has he ever pouted about not getting the ball? Or complained (unwarrantedly, unlike in 2008 when they ranked friggin dead last) about the offense that was being run? Being a social media darling and end-zone dance choreographer doesn't make you a detriment to a team, nor does it make you a "diva".

When has Chad "misbehaved"? Do you think Chad has been "in the spotlight" much at all these past 3 years? How has he behaved during that time?

Chad's only "misbehaving" I've seen was demanding a trade in 2008 after two years of poop performance from the franchise. So you're an All-Pro WR, and you're stuck on a crap team and you want out. Is that really all that terrible? Not everybody is as willing to put up with that stuff as AJ is (and credit to him for doing that, not that anybody would blame Andre for wanting out).

Your worries seem unfounded and based purely on this conception of a person that doesn't really exist.

I'll accept an argument that he's not skilled enough anymore or not worth the price tag (probably isn't), but this notion that he's some kind of rabble rousing, me-first, doesn't care about winning, stats-w**** is just so majorly bogus.

Would he be happy if he came here and the Texans sucked butt? Probably not. Would he be in any position to demand a trade and cause a ruckus? That's even less likely than the Texans sucking (unless AJ joins the circus and Chad posts mid-2000 type numbers) IMO.

Suspicious Chad is suspicious of your haterism.

I dont mind he practices his end zone dances, if he does it after team practice, or in his free time.
I dont care if he has a TV show, I only care if he goes to practice everyday, and plays well in the games.
Rex Ryan and the Jets always do some trash talk, and sometimes they lose.

I don't think Chad is a bad influence in the locker room, a distraction, or a guy who doesn't bust his ass... I just think he's past his prime and isn't really going to do too much for you at this point to counterbalance all the hype he'll bring with him.

Interesting debate, but really it's all for naught. A complete hypothetical.

    1. It's all based on a couple of meaningless tweets.
    2. Neither guy would want to play here.
    3. The Texans would never sign either one of these guys.

Where have you heard anything bad about his work ethic? I think there are three types of "problem children" in the NFL:

Randy Moss: doesn't work hard when he doesn't want to, takes plays off, mopes around.

Terrell Owens: works hard, but blows up locker rooms and throws teammates under the bus

Chad Johnson: works hard, draws attention to himself, has "too much fun" out there

I think of the 3, Chad Johnson is the most misunderstood. He recognizes that sports are about entertainment, and he plays up to that. But he's always a fan favorite, works his butt off, and wants to win. He's a distraction in the offseason, but rarely do you ever hear about him being a distraction during the season or on gamedays.

Also, as was noted earlier, teams are more than willing to try to get rid of people like Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. The Bengals have shown no interest whatsoever in moving Chad Johnson despite his griping - that tells you a little about how they feel about him being part of that team.

Is Cromartie a FA? And how can you be a distraction during the off-season? What's there to be distracted from, lifting weights?

Based on Cushing's last tweet it looks like Cromartie is practicing with our D. Very interesting.

I wonder if Wade reached out to Cromartie when the lockout was temporarily lifted, or maybe even before he was officially hired. Because it sure seems like he knows he's going to be here.

I hope that doesn't keep us from going after Nnamdi (as much of a longshot as that is) or Eric Weddle.
