Oh my God. I read The Manifesto as a prayer everynight before going to bed. I must concentrate more. :)

Sishir, what are you doing not only reading, but quoting, from The Manifesto.
If you don't care to respond in a public forum, I can understand given the Patriot Act and all.

I own a freight brokerage so that I can be a contented moderate type who moves rope (and stuff) between sellers and buyers.

That's what I thought. Then Ridley gave an interview where he said I was replicant. ME, a replicant! I retire them, I don't hob-nob with them. (Well, except for this one chick, but I digress) It really has me quite upset, and Dick isn't around to set things straight.

    D&D. Dick! PK!!

I am called Business Analyst and I do business-type stuff. I don't think it has affected my politics. However, I'm also getting an MBA now, and I have noticed a drift to the right in economic questions as a result (but starting as a communist, I had plenty of room to move).

Arno, I hadn't thought of it before: Do I know you?

    I'm a law student.

If anything, going to college/grad school has made me more of a moderate than before. Being around such arrogant blowhards on both sides of every issue tends to do that. It's kind of like the D&D.

Juan, don't let the MBA program make you lose your soul. :) I sympathize with your struggle.

However, the Movement for a Better World can use some rebel MBA types. I had one in the MBA Program at U of H. The guy had a PhD in Economics from Notre Dame, I believe, and he transferred to U of H Business with tenure from some other university. U of H had no idea what they were getting. Even I could barely talk to him as he was so embittered by the business ethics class he taught and the student's response to his radicalness.

He retired as soon as he possibly could.

    Fair enough.

See Sishir's suggestion as to what to do with rope if you actually move it.

Ahhh, but I don't use the rope ... I just pass it around to the appropriate party so they can. Either way, I profit. ;)

My sister, her husband, and my sister-in-law are all biologists, and so I tangentally know a bunch more. One guy was named Arnaud, but now that I think about it, I think he was from Belgium. Besides, he is (or was) in Houston, not Europe. I don't suppose you have any association with UH or know a biologist who does.

    I work construction.

Anyway my work has made me conservative on many issues. My family has made me moderate.
