ha. i don't remember 80% approval rating when the trade first happened. i guess one good game an a lot of people have changed their mind. on a team like Houston, where we move the ball around well to find the open shot, Jackson should be a great fit. he's not going to be asked to carry the team or anything, but he'll make a perfect backup who can play smart basketball.

Except most everyone who was freaking out then probably aren't going to bother to vote.

Its a wash between Bobby and Bonzi but we send away MJ's contract so its an upgrade

Then it sounds like you should've voted "yes."

This isn't about "value," it's about what helps us the most.

I'd agree that in a vacuum, Bonzi is probably as valuable as BJ, if not moreso. But for the Rockets, this seems like a pretty good move. We take a lot of jumpshots, and BJ is a better shooter. He's also a better defender.

Wow, BJ only had a 25% approval rating last week.

After today's game, BJ has a 80% approval rating.

I was iffy on this trade, but I gave Adelman and the management the benefit of the doubt. It seems like BJ's shooting will be more valuable than Bonzi's post game.

    Winning cures all*.

*It has not been determined how long this streak needs to go before Brooksball gets hyped up for the playoffs.

Bobby Jackson is an upgrade in every imaginable way.

    1. With this trade Carl Landry sees more minutes. Which guy do you want in the game more? Bonzi or Landry? I don't think that should even be a question anymore

    2. Bobby Jackson replaces our backup pg problem. Let's face it, we just could NOT go into the playoffs with Aaron Brooks as our backup pg. We could not last in a 7 game series with that big of a hole in the lineup. Brooks is good and all, but he's a rookie and is too short to play in high pressure playoff games.

    3. Bobby Jackson's contract has one less year than Mike James' contract. Next season, we will have Bobby Jackson, Francis (assuming he will pick up his player option at the end of this year, which of course he will), Head, and one more I think. Overall, I know we will have 11 million dollars in expiring contracts. That's enough to get not just a quality player, but a freakin all-star. Need I remind what players like Iverson and Baron Davis have been traded for?

With this trade, the Rockets fixed a glaring hole with our team this season, and gave this team a lot of pieces to work with next season. It's a win win situation for us.

Ahhhhh, more people coming around to the trade.....

This is exactly what some of us said....the backup PG position was more important than the backup SG/SF wing position.

I voted for a wash. My reasons being:

    1. Bobby Jackson fits in perfectly with this system having played for Adelman before -BUT- and this a huge but - he is only as good as his shooting. He does however fill a huge hole for us at pg.

    2. Bonzi is a force during the playoffs. Hes proved it time and again. He might be lazy somedays but this guy really brings it when it counts. Plus he was really on board this season with what we were doing.

My hope is that Carl Landry doesn't fade in the playoffs when the pressure is on. Lets see what this kid is made of... :D

I know Bonzi brings some things Bobby doesn't (REBOUNDING, DUNKS), but I'd disagree that BJ's only value is his shooting. He's a much better passer than MJ ever was, and his D is excellent. Better overall defender than Bonzi, IMO.

BJ - an older Mike James that fits into Adelman's system.

my honest opinion is that the Bobby Jackson trade was horizontal. We gave up offense in the SF for an extra ball handler. I think if Bobby Jackson really commits to the PG position then its a slight +.

    As for the Green trade.....yyyyyyeeeeEEEEESSSSSS!

The trade IMO just puts the team where it should have been from day 1 of Mike James being an actual contributor, and keeping Bonzi. So its a lateral move.

The positive is it frees up money to put on re-signing Landry.

The biggest reason I didn't like the trade is because of the newly developed chemistry established with Bonzi. He contributed to the win streak.

But Bobby Jackson has played in Adelman's system, and it looks like he has chemistry as well...only in a different aspect.

So far, I like the trade despite my initial stance against it. Hopefully, Brent Barry signs so the trade looks a lot better "talent-wise"

I like him so far but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Mike James was good the 1st 2 games of the season and look how far he's fell.

haha. 2 days ago everyone hated this, myself included. it looks as though bjax outside shot and ability to get to the rim will help us.
