After reading some of the posts in this thread, I am far more concerned about the general state of literacy in this nation then what some pastor said.

 

to be fair, I heard a lot of media outlets describe wright's rants as racist which I didn't agree with. but race is the underlying issue. I don't mind the criticism that the issue should be wright's derogatory remarks towards the country because I think that's a fair criticism. but obama addressed what he probably heard a lot of people criticize wright for, just read this thread.

 

He should have addressed the fact that having a racist confidant for 2 decades to bounce ideas off isn't the best thing for a "Uniter" to have on his resume instead of passing him off to his sheep as a crazy uncle type. Apologizing for his own poor judgement would have been the thing to do.

 

So now Mr. Obama has sheep? Wow. The man has an amazing resume! We can add sheep herder to the list!

So you haven't had any experiences with racists during your "career?" You haven't had to work with them when you were young and try to keep your mouth shut because you needed the job, perhaps to pay for college? You haven't had an old relative who made racist remarks and had to be ignored because he was always around during family holidays and to make a fuss would ruin the occasion? You didn't grow up in a neighborhood where friends had parents who were racist and you couldn't say anything because you were a kid and the kid having to put up with them was your friend?

No? Well dude, how come you are so sure of your opinion? Did you read books about racism? Take a course in school? What's up? You certainly seem sure about Mr. Obama and his experiences.

Roger did let his wife get outted as a steroid abuser only to excuse that away that she was unaware what McNamee injecting her with roids.

None of that is relevent. Obama could have just gone to a church that didn't have cursing racially charged sermon. And he sure as hell shouldn't pass him self off as someone capable of uniting this country when he can't even get the people in his country to stop spreading an ignornat message that uindermines what he supposedly wants for America.

 

One point of Obama's speech is that racisms is pervasive in the good 'lo USA. If Presidential candidates had a racism litmus test for their campaign workers and advisors, they would have no one to run and advise their campaigns. If Presidential candidates had a racism litmus test for their contributors, their campaigns would be without money.

The question becomes how much racism should be tolerated. This is subjective.

WRT Wright, if you look at his entire careeer and not just the one sermon, you might find a person that is mostly not racist and mostly an outstanding Christian leader. Obama did.

Now you don't really Wright at all, but you appear more than willing to defined his entire life by one sermon. This reflects poorly on you. This suggest ulterior motives.

Bush was a goofy guy throughout his life never killed a person. But then in a couple years, he managed to be responsible for the deaths of over a million of people. Do you still agree that he is just a goofy guy?

 

Well...Obama tolerated a great deal of it for 20 years with Wright. He admitted the Pastor was wrong but didn't act on it until he absolutely had to. That's not much of a leader.

It wasn't just one sermon and go read the mission of that church.

Minimizing what that church is really about reflects poorly on you.

Before you ask a question, would you mind typing Bawk first? You ask basically the same question over and over that's already been answered many times.

 

Please make a complete list of all of the transgressions that Wright committed over the 20 years that Obama attended Wright's church.

Please make a complete list of all of the positive impacts of which Wright's church was responsible over the 20 years that Obama attended Wright's church.

Then we can compare.

You want this to be a thumbs up or down situation. But it is not. This is real life. There are shades of gray.

 

you haven't answered. you said he called america white. america is majority white how is that racist. you said he referred to candiates for president being rich white and privaleged. That's usually the case, how is that racist? how is wanting to help the black community that make up your congregation over its ills racist?

what did he say that was anti white. what did he say that was negative towards white people
