I am certain that I can sum up all three of these videos sight unseen... "Obama is a corrupt man who is utterly incompetent." IIRC, it was Blago who was the corrupt one and I have not seen a shred of documented evidence that shows that Obama or his administration were involved at all. Of course, nobody has charged or even intimated that Obama put any pressure on anyone to drop the voter intimidation case, but don't let pesky things like facts get in your way. The entire DoJ resigned? I am certain that I would have heard about that. Me too. I would love to hear what a reputable journalist has to say about this. All we have seen so far is Fox hit pieces from "journalists" who don't even seem to know that Obama, while technically in charge of DoJ, isn't allowed to interfere in any way with investigations. Therefore, the fact that DoJ dropped these charges has little to do with Obama. I would guess that the case didn't have any merit or it would have gone forward. In the interim, the Fox "News" yellow journalists continue to lie and mislead in order to try and get some traction going into the midterm elections. As documented in the statistics posted in the "Deepwater Horizon" thread, the government reaction so far can only be described as "inaction" if one is willing to ignore the reality of the 4800+ vessels and 42,000+ people working to contain and clean up the spill. A great many of these people work for or take their orders from the government, so your histrionics on this issue are based on fantasy. The economic situation, while certainly not stellar, looks pretty good considering the path we have been traveling for the past two years or so. When Obama took over, the economy was shedding more than a half million jobs per month and the economy was contracting at an annualized 6.1% rate. That has been dramatically turned around, though I don't give credit to Obama for all of that. To what do you take exception? The fact that we are in a war (not Obama's fault), the fact that the Taliban has been resurgent since 2007 (not Obama's fault), or the fact that he just installed the guy who turned around the war in Iraq as the commander in Afghanistan? Oh, you mean the one based on the Fox "News" hit pieces that are based on partisan fantasies and right wing dreams? I REALLY don't get how Blago has anything whatsoever to do with Obama. Please point me to a factually based print piece on the subject, preferably something written by a journalist from the Associated Press or Reuters, two organizations that I know employ fact checkers, unlike Fox. You mean that Obama is incompetent because the rest of the world doesn't agree with the United States' assessment of the global economy? Weren't you (and all the other wingers) among those who didn't give a flip about what the world thought of us a scant three years ago? I am actually pretty pleased that Obama is pushing for immigration reform this year. Even if he gets it done during the lame duck session, I love that he doesn't avoid the controversial issues (though he does compromise too much, IMO). No, they are off the top of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck's heads. You just parrot their lines ad nauseum. Wow is right. All of that garbage above and nothing of any substance whatsoever. Are you F'ing kidding me? Are you actually trying to tar Obama with Gore's issues. You are truly delusional.
So thumbs who from the right is going to champion a new era of non-corruption government and lead the tea party to conservative nirvana? Who is going to defeat the nigerian usurper?
I must have struck a nerve, Qazi, because you are the only one so far to remotely address the opening post. The others are derail attempts. Is Obama the leader of the leader of the Black Panther Party? I doubt it, but he certainly uses them for his advantage. Is it not true that Eric Holder is Obama's choice as the Attorney General? Is there not a paper trail in the voter intimidation travesty that leads directly to Holder and thus to Obama? It is a pity that Obama is corrupt (as shown in the continuing Chicago way saga), but he is corrupt and incompetent at the same time, a really dangerous situation for the nation.
No, not that I have seen and not that has been printed by a reputable journalist. The top five links when Googling "paper trail holder voter intimidation black panther" are a Fox article and four blogs referencing it. The Fox piece doesn't even have the term "paper trail" in the article. If there was one, Fox would be on it like stink on ****. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,595683,00.html?mep
Blago in no way is connected to Obama as far as corruption goes. In fact it shows that his administration wouldn't play ball with the corrupt. These videos are about the stupid new black panther case. What a joke. Again, what evidence from this do you think points to corruption? How dare you cite this as a civil rights corruption issue, while you did NOTHING, and have yet to comment on Bush who put a blatant racist in charge of civil rights and had another racist in the DOJ in Tanner. You don't have a leg to stand on.
I would like to see the evidence supporting this supposition that ties Obama to Blagojevich's attempt to sell Obama's Senate seat. While there is evidence that Obama's transition team contacted Blagojevich, which makes perfect sense, there is not evidence of a quid pro quo which would be the only way you could prove corruption.
True but after the war they were back in the Union and it wasn't a good idea to just keep them under occupation and subject to economic exploitation. While I think the Civil War had to be fought and the right side won I think the Reconstruction was poorly handled.
So you are on record that you believe that Obama is a Nigerian usurper while Tea Party advocates believe Obama is a legimate President born in Hawaii? I can accept that.
This is all well and good, and, while some historian economists (Charles & Mary Beard IIRC) believed that economic forces would have freed the slaves in time even if the South had won the Civil War, this is not germane to this thread. Please start another thread on the topic, which is interesting in and of itself.
It's amusing that people think when everyone makes fun of their thread instead of addressing their post, it's because they "struck a nerve". It might just be that the original point was too stupid to address.
My legs are old but still quite sturdy, and I stand on them daily. As I stated earlier, I don't believe any of Blago's personal testimony, but the tapes are irrefutable. The pig can squeal loud and long, but the pig is still stuck. I yield to Bartle Bull and the former DOJ attorney and their statements. Both are far more knowledgeable and credible than you, regardless of how much I am dared. Again, when you can't challenge the facts, you run back to the standard line of blaming Bush to justify Obama's criminal activity and/or incompetence.
The man who served Presidents Kennedy and Johnson and who served as Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign manager, a storied champion of civil rights and voter rights, Bartle Bull, vehemently disagrees with you. Of course, you still believe in Daily Kos pollsters.
