Crush the republicans like grapes, most likely.

On a side note, it's pretty funny that about a year ago, such noted African American political commentators like Trader_Jorge and basso were telling us Obama was not black enough to be a popular candidate among blacks.

Now the line has switched to that he is way too black to be president.

    Fear: it's what's for dinner!

One of the big reasons I'd never vote for Rudy... it would be fear, with a capitol F, 24/7. I'm sick of that way of "governing" by Bush, and the Rove campaign strategy of fear. Bankrupt policies? No worries... just attempt to scare everyone into supporting you during the elections and then continue with gross incompetence, replete with tax cuts for the wealthy and big business. It's been the Bush/Rove mantra for 7 years.

    Impeach Bush.

22 replies, and I have yet to see one commenting about the thread itself - a very offensive and below the belt line comment from a key supporter of Obama. Of course, Obama has nothing to do with this, therefore he wouldn't comment on any attacks from his camp.

He gets a free pass from Democrats on this board. It's kind of funny that so many democratic posters here acting like strategists, as always, decided that America isn't ready for a female president, so Clinton is not electable. Instead of being truthful to yourself and admitting you can't handle a female leader, but play the strategy game to claim "they" are not ready. While lots of developed or developing even conservative nations were and are ready, America as the democratic beacon is not ready for a female president.

IBM CEO turned the Big Blue around in 80's by dismissing all the cheap talks of "vision". It's not a startup company, but an established one with some serious problems. It needs serious and experienced problem solvers. Step by step, issue by issue, that was how IBM was turned around. Now, after 8 years of inexperienced likeable president, with all the problems at hand, some people want more inexperienced, likeable candidate with “vision”, such as glorious ones to meet leaders of Iran and NK in the first year.

As I said before, if you are applying for a management job today, a resume without much experience won’t get you any interview. Even if you have connection to get you an interview, if you can only deliver promises of what you would do for me, without any solid past achievements and concrete solutions to back that up, I don’t think it will get you any further. But hey, you can rally people to support you to become the president of United States. A project manager, without any deliverables, budget projection, schedule estimation, project plan, and backout strategy, will be kicked out by customer, fired by employer, and looked down upon by your team. But hey, US president can pull an Iraq war and continue with it. That’s the most exciting and easiest job in the world. You can do whatever you want without any accountability. To get there, you don’t need any experience, but being likeable.

I have 2 aunts who are republicans. They both have PhD degrees, and they both are Christians, and they both believe that FOX is the only balanced Channel and Bush is a wonderful president. Any candidate with blurry stance regarding gay marriage or abortion rights is a big no-no for both of them. I don’t agree with them on so many things, and I don’t even want to argue with them. To me, they are like being brain-washed, still, they know what they support and what they want. They don’t pretend they can figure out what others want, and they don’t pretend they are smarter than everyone else to pick someone winnable. You can call them stubborn single-issue voter, but they actually do something they believe, and go out to support someone has the same stance as they do. On the other hand, Democrats are just too smart to me. They tried to distance themselves from Bill in 2000, despite all the glory and prosperity he led the country to, because they figured the public would like that. They failed, miserably. In 2004, again, everyone is there designing a master plan to pick someone winnable, but that failed again, miserably. A war hero became a flip-flopping coward. Blame swift boat all you want to, but picking this and objecting that, watching and designing the game is just attitude of opposition party, just like Rockets fans acting like a coach. Governing party should be the one who’s actively taking charge and initiatives not reactively analyzing everything to death.

Same thing here with this coming election, the democrats are there to figure out who’s having a bigger chance in general election; this policy may not sit well with this group; that incentive might offend that group, like they had lots of success with that. Can’t they just openly admit, I like this guy, so I am supporting him? Can’t they be truthful to themselves that they don’t want a woman, instead of claiming she’s pony or this or that? Which politician in the world is an honest soul? Geez, isn’t that the most pony claim? As weak as Republican candidates look now, Democrats might lose this game again by playing it again. If they can’t even win this one, they are probably never going to win anything any more.

Well, I am a foreign ignorant fool. What do I know?

Probably because the same people who were, earlier, trying to tell us that Barack was not black enough are now trying to tar and feather him and run him out of town on a rail - because he is too black, I mean, if a black person who supports him says something that they might find offensive.

Anyway, the fact that a self-proclaimed "foreign ignorant fool" is trying to analyze the complex state of race politics in America (see, e.g., supra) speaks for itself. I mean you are really calling your own self out there, right?

I knew BO back in law school. He was a good man and a good teacher, and obviously very smart, at leastthat was the impression I got. So - ergo - I support him.

And you are right, it doesnt' hurt that he has an attractive message. Why would it?

Nothing? Or something? who knows, who cares?

Look, when your opponent, Hillary Clinton, pulls her pants down, squats on her hindquarters, and then proceeds to take a pi$$ on MLK's grave, then OF COURSE you are going to magically start attracting the black vote. What's amazing is that there is a decent sized percentage of blacks who are still voting for Hillary! What does that tell you about Obama? Wow.

The fact of the matter is that most up-to-speed blacks recognize that Obama did not participate in black culture until after his college years. Prior to that, he was more in touch with his white athiest upbringing, and his childhood years under Wahhabist Lolo Soetero.

The Democrats near to learn one thing from the Republicans: you play your dirty tricks under the table; not above it.

I don't think the Republicans have taken that lesson to heart.

Check her Senate record and you will find she has been compromizing and reaching out across the aisle.

The problem with Obama is that his history is limited so it is hard to tell how he will govern. While there is evidence of him working across the aisle in the IL state senate that is a smaller body with likely less ego and political stakes that the US Senate. Given his stances and the nature of his campaign it seems likely that he would be more ambitious in his goals than Clinton. The whole idea of "the audacity of hope" is to dream big. Limiting himself to a modest and cautious agenda isn't the audacity of hope.
