    a) Obama has faced this stupidity since his campaign began, well before he was elected. Or if you like, since Bush won, where were those demanding unnecessary and redundant proof of his birth records?
    b) Gore's situation was totally different.
    c) Please try to stay on point.

Birth certificates, oval office BJ's, and stolen elections are all about getting the guy you don't like out of office. How am I the one getting off topic when I bring up past candidates? You can mention Kerry but I can't mention Gore. That's ridiculous.

The cheap shot of choice against Kerry was his war record, no? And since McCain was never really a challenge to Obama, maybe the Dems just figured it wasn't worth the trouble digging anything up on him. Same reason they never bothered with Dole in 96.

    Dukakis - Willie Horton
    Clinton - Monica Lewinsky
    Bush - national guard service
    Kerry - Swift Boat vets
    Obama - birth certificate

And so on, and so on.....

I mentioned Kerry as a counterpoint to the Obama situation - but it certainly would apply to Gore too - no one questioned Gore's perfectly legitimate birth records.

Referencing the 2000 election brou-ha-ha is absolutely not relevant, and neither is the Clinton BJ. Similarly, I never referenced the move to have Bush impeached for Iraq. None of those situations had clear legal data supporting the opposite (and rational) purview*.

*Yes, the courts supported the 2000 election results, but that's quite a bit more complicated than a ****ing birth certificate.

As I mentioned above to Casey, it can be argued that all of these were legitimate inquires that either played a role or died down as appropriate. Obama's situation requires a considerably larger degree of intentional ignorance. What would motivate that extra degree of nonsensical suspicion?

Crazy? Yes. Racist beyond a reasonable doubt? I don't think so. That's all I'm saying.

    Desperation

Anyway, I almost feel like I'm defending these idiots, so I'm going to drop it now.

All fair points. Likewise, I'm out - this topic does not deserve this much attention from me or anyone.

So you're saying all these people who didn't believe that Obama was born in the US even after the state Hawaii released his COLB more than a year ago are just plain crazy. I'll buy that but I would have to say, Trump's pretty successfuly for a crazy person.

Desperation? I don't think Obama is so infallable that the best criticism on him is based on a conspiracy.

Rational people knew it wouldn't. As has been said, if you still believe this nonsense there can only be one conclusion, you are an ignorant racist of the worse kind.

Well, to be fair, the Clinton drug-running/murder nonsense wasn't as reliant on time-travel as Birtherism.
