"OBAMA?!?! He isn't American, show the birth certificate LOLZ" "He showed the birth certificate?? Can you believe this guy LOLZ"
Well according to Rep. Leo Berman, the birth certificate still has "questions." And people like this get elected to public office. http://www.texastribune.org/immigra...pol-still-isnt-satisfied-on-obama-birthplace/
I don't really think this is an issue. It seems more like a distraction from Ben Bernanke's prognosis on the economy today.
You know, this is actually a zero risk move by Obama. If it works, than some of the 50% of independents who think he is Kenyan might change their position and decide to vote for him later on. If it fails to end the debate, it only makes the TeaBagger Party look that much more stupid to the rest of the public.
You gotta give those guys who still won't acknowledge that Obama is an American some credit. No surrender even when presented facts. Take a face full of eggs, a mouth full of crow and still not budging. They'll rationalize anything. Plenty of hot air left.
This whole thing is crazy. I did not think so originally, but I am beginning to agree with hairyme and FB that the remaining "birther" crowd are thinly-veiled racists.
To be fair, the health care debates in Congress were on C-SPAN and the healthcare summit was streamed live on the internet, all seven hours (I watched it).
thumbs didn't think a proven to be authentic Hawaii state government issued Certificate of Live Birth which says Obama is born in Honolulu, Hawaii proves that Obama was born in the US.
President Barack Obama tried to put the kibosh on birther speculation by releasing his Hawaiian birth certificate and calling questions about the authenticity of the document a distraction from bigger issues by “sideshows and carnival barkers.” “We do not have time for this kind of silliness,” he said to reporters after the White House released a long-form copy of his birth certificate. Potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stirred up the controversy in recent weeks by demanding Obama prove he was born in Hawaii, not Kenya. “We’ve got better stuff to do. I’ve got better stuff to do,” Obama said. “We’ve got big problems to solve, and I’m confident we can solve them, but we’re going to have to focus on them, not on this.” Obama then flew to Chicago to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show.
