Unless he understands that he's wearing big floppy shoes, a red plastic nose and a curly wig... that his nay vote will do more for health care than a yay vote.
How do you tell your senator to vote for a bill? I see Bayh is on the list, do I email him or call his office?
Is Joe Wilson basso? He sure sounds like him. What a wonderful world we live in where the truth is "hateful" and "anti-American." <object width="448" height="368"><param name="movie" value="http://www.dailykostv.com/flv/player.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="flashvars" value="config=http://www.dailykostv.com/w/002129/vxml.php?448"></param><embed src="http://www.dailykostv.com/flv/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="448" height="368" flashvars="config=http://www.dailykostv.com/w/002129/vxml.php?448"></embed></object>

Just send him a comment asking him to get a bill through the senate, let's see what his office have to say.
This sounds incredibly selfish. If this plan would help millions of people in this country, but possibly hurt you a little bit because you have super duper above average insurance with CBS right now, then you'd be against it?
Wonder what if one day CBS decides to down size him for what ever reason, would he want something to cover him? Guess not.
Wilson gives a big fat **** you to any apology he gave Obama -- Joe Wilson: "I Have Been Overwhelmed" By Supportive Phone Calls Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) gave an interview with WIS, the local NBC affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina, and expressed contrition for his "You lied!" outburst -- but he also said he's received a lot of support for it back home. "Well, I have been overwhelmed by phone calls from constituents -- people of the Second District -- who say, 'Joe, thank you for speaking up for us,'" said Wilson. "'Thank you for your passion, for the people who you represent, because you understand the threat to the health care system -- the potential for rationing -- and we appreciate so much you speaking up for the people of the United States.'"
Had this emailed to me by a coworker who is against the proposal. Not sure of the source, so it could be right-based (and probably is). However, if correct, gives more food for thought on the true logistics of carrying this out. The July report by the CBO projected that 6 million people would enroll in a government-run program, considerably fewer than the 100 million estimated by The Lewin Group, a right leaning health care policy research group, or the 47 million predicted by the left-leaning Urban Institute. The CBO offered its figure as part of an evaluation of one of the four congressional health bills floating through Congress right now. Asked whether a public plan would draw a significant number of Americans covered by private insurance, the congressional budget arm acknowledged that larger companies were not included in the assumptions. The CBO added that because several factors are uncertain, "estimating enrollment in the public plan is especially difficult."
Please keep talking, Joe Wilson. You are doing more for health care reform right now than anyone this side of Obama.
I would be shocked if Kucinic does not vote for it. He is not an idiot like Nader. For humanitarian purposes we have to cover the uninsured and the underinsured now even if the best we can do is subsidize a failing private system that will increasingly get too expensive. Later when and if it fails we can make further changes. Maybe by then even conservatives will agree with everyone having insurance.
Yeah. I too have wonderful medical insurance from my company. It's ridiculously good, but my mother does not have any (her job doesn't offer it), she has a prior condition so she can't get it on her own w/out spending over $1600 per month. It would be incredibly selfish of me to not support this plan that our president is proposing even though there is no way possible it could improve my personal situation.
It's closer than you'd expect. He had a big advantage in cash last time and still only won by 6+ points against a Dem Vet who is running hard again in '10.
I don't like pulling the race card. But when I see stuff happen that never happened before (i.e. it not being cool for the Pres to speak to schoolkids, another elected official shouting that he's a liar during a live speech, folks in states choosing to bring guns around him just because the law says they can, lots of people still thinking he's a Muslim, etc)....well how else should I conclude?
