While on the surface it sounds great to hand out hundreds of dollars in food benefits a month for low/no income individuals to eat well, the reality is theres a threshold between those who try to break away from the poverty system and those who learn to survive off of it. Im not advocating we should only provide ramen noodle for SNAP. I just don't think its right that those who live off of the government programs eat better than the family of four, where both parents are holding low income jobs but make "too much" for government assistance. A program that I truly appreciate is WIC. Personally, I think SNAP/EBT/Food Stamps should follow the same guide lines, not a free for all in the grocery store.
