Would you rather your grandparents have a free market healthcare system? That way they can pay the full cost of their medical care without jobs. Or your parents (or you) can pick up the hundrends of thousands dollars difference between what they can pay and what their health care costs as senior citizens.
They do because they are the only group of people that I have seen so far that is helped by it, they get it for free or almost free.
Well, give me a legitimate reason why my grandparents have worse healthcare now then before? They certainly aren't able to pay more.
That's not answering the question. Would you rather they have free market health care? Are you or your parents going to pick up the difference?
I would rather it was like it was before obamacare, where I could get the plan I wanted and they could get what they needed, ya
you can nit pick all you want....I understand it wasn't a free market. I never looked into it because he said that they wouldn't take away what you had, until it turned out they did. What would you call what we had before and what would you call what we have now?
It is possible since he claims they are immigrants from Russia. You need to have paid into Medicare for 10 yrs to get it.
ya but why did it get worse? why can't they get medicine that they were getting before? why did that get more expensive? I understand giving people who don't want jobs free healthcare but why do my grandparents have to pay for it?
Do you realize that a large number of people who receive government subsidies for healthcare are not those "who don't want jobs," but people who work for a living?
If you want to have a serious discussion about what happened, you need to be specific. Name of plans, what types of medicine....details. If your plan was eliminated, it didn't meet the minimum requirements which means you were paying for a bad product, no matter how cheap it was.
A simple explanation is people are getting old. More people need medical care. The ratio of old:working is getting larger. Increased demand and same supply will increase prices.
Both my son and I have pre-existing conditions, so unless we were offered insurance as part of a job (I am self-employed and have been for 18 years) we would be unable to have insurance.
