i never saw the big deal. call me a comunista but poor, white, latino and black should all be insured. If that doesn't say god, family, and country I don't know what does. Unless, of course, the party of god is ju$t all about the bottom line. HOWEVAH, a couple of relatives have said they've gotten little benefits from it, might as well not be insured. So in my opinion, it's far from the utopia of healthcare that it's made to look.
If the data doesn't exist for previous years then those numbers don't mean jack****. I can't believe this even has to be explained.
Taxes was not specifically even mentioned as one of the possible reason for increase in the article. I think part of the reason is... because none of the taxes take effect until 2014. At least that's what I recall. If I'm wrong, point out which obamacare taxes took please in 2011-12?
they mean hospital costs are going up faster than inflation during obamacare. who gives a **** what causes are in the article? do you need someone to hold your hand and tell that if you add taxes to drugs that the cost of said drugs goes up?
yes. whats ur point? lets be clear here. your contention is that raising taxes on drug manufacturers will not raise the cost of drugs? ?
I dunno, I have problems with the federal government mandating that you buy health insurance, it's something that should be a state by state issue like auto insurance. That fundamental disagreement aside, I just don't see it helping many people. A lot of people I know the only difference is that birth control is now free and their insurance costs more and their deductible is significantly higher. Time will tell as to if this is a good thing or not, but so far it doesn't seem like it from a man on the street standpoint. Having insurance you can't afford to use and that you struggle to pay for month by month isn't really better than not having insurance at all.
Nowhere near utopia, just better that what came before it and a step in the right direction. Hey conquistador, did you see that an FMLN commander was elected president in El Salvador. El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!
I do too. We'll have to see. But I'm on the side that we got to at least do something because our health care system IS GOING to bankrupt us if nothing is done. It would have been so much better if the two parties got together and figure out a solution then all these nonsense political fighting. And yea, the GOP never did try any health care reform at all while they did try everything to stop this so I view them as anti-progress.
Well for me any discussion about the sort of health care reform they wanted to pass at a federal level would have been a non-starter, but that's only because I don't think it's the federal government's job. I would have encouraged states to pass their own health care reform bills according to how the people of those states wanted it to go. One thing is for certain though, the health care system is in bad shape. Costs are ridiculous and something needs to be done. I'm not 100% sure what actually needs to be done, it's a really complicated issue.
Apparently it does have to be explained. Healthcare costs have been far outpacing inflation for a long, long time. Christ, that's been one of the main drivers of the push for reform. Again, if you can't compare the rate of increase for these particular costs pre and post Obamacare, then they tell you jack****. Obamacare probably reduced the rate of increase, but we can't tell with the data you've provided because it sucks.
You're not being forced to live here. You're free to leave at any time. LOL at this ridiculous talking point about taxes being equivalent to a use of force.
Try not paying them. Jesus' idea for the church body was, I believe, to take care of widows and orphans through charity not taxation.
