I think most of us support the idea of having democracy in the heart of the middle east.

Most of us know that starting a war occupying a nation, and running things ineptly aren't the way to get that done.

Because you believe in killing people, occupying a nation, and forcing democracy on others doesn't make you more of a liberal.

    Andrew Ryan asks:

"Are you a man? Or a slave?"

Some insight to the possible meeting of the minds in congress last week.

Obama Privately Rebuked Lieberman For Half-Heartedly Denying False Muslim Rumors

    By Greg Sargent - June 9, 2008, 8:58AM

Newsweek gets some detail on what Obama told Joe Lieberman in that confrontation on the Senate floor last week...

    There's also this:

Translation: Lieberman will continue cranking out the slime from now until Election Day 2008, and perhaps beyond, though at that point he may well be doing it from the minority side of the aisle...

    Lieberman today on the election

McCain's campaign is email blasting this statement to the press and agrees with it. I guess that whole "we would never question Barack's patriotism" is out the window.

Lieberman is truly a sack of ****. That he ran as the vice-presidential candidate of my party pains me no end. I thought it was an awful selection at the time and events have certainly proved that to be true. The man is a member of the "basso school of intellectual flexibilty." In other words, Lieberman has a mind doused from a sewer and frozen in concrete. A walking, talking, stinking ball of crap attached to a torso. Honestly, I don't know how the man (or basso, for that matter), sleeps at night. Ambien must be a wonder drug.

    Impeach Bush, Cheney, and LIEberman.

Agree 100%. I can't understand why anyone finds him credible.

I definitely think that the Democrats should take away any of Lieberman's committee positions, encourage him to leave and kick him out of the party if that is possible. It is too humiliating to see him be one of the leaders of the opposition while claiming to be a Democrat.

It would be interesting to see if he is always aligned with the neo-cons on his militarism or if he splits with them if he perceives it to be in Israel's interest.

Strip him of all committee assignments.

He wants to be an "independent" then so be it.

Of course. I would love it if progress could be made there.
